Huukan Golf Club

The group I was with had not played here before. I found the greens very slow and it was hard to get the ball to the hole. the 18th hole was such a dogleg it was hard to know were to go until we drove up to the green.

Average course. Played it earlier in the year and it has dried out a bit. They have some screwy policies, you can buy beer to take on the course if you choose but my wife wanted a Bloody Mary they won't let you take them on the course. Seems a little goofy to me.

The staff was very good .

It needs money put into it. It has potential but as it is now it is not worth it.
$20 for it would be an appropriate price with the condition the coarse is in.
Bare fairways and unkempt greens.

We played this course last winter and it was in very rough condition. We understood that it had been closed and was purchased by the Tribe and they were bringing it back. They're coming up short. The ground appeared damp so I assume there isn't a problem with water. The fairways and rough were in really bad shape! I believe that if they were to give anyone access to a few hundred pounds of grass seed that they would have more success bringing this course back to a more playable condition than whatever they've been doing for the past year. There are too many courses in the area that are much better than Huukan, spend your money on those. On the other hand the staff was wonderful. We interacted with the proshop, starter, and bar and they were all as helpful and welcoming as could be.

Huukan was alright. It was a normal city course. Not very challenging but a good course to go out and get a little practice.

Course has had several owners the past few years. Currently owners seem committed to improving it. I played 18 holes and it was fine. It met my expectations, which were low since I only paid $29 including cart and GPS. Greens were good, fairway were fine if you landed in the grass and the rough was non-existent.

I'll give the course another try when I'm back in that area.

Quick Tip: Remember this is Arizona in the Winter and they are on Standard Time always. Coming from California or Nevada, the time changes to an hour later. When you book your tee time through Golf Now, they just give you a tee time. Check to make sure you have the correct time from Laughlin, NV. When you cross the Colorado River into Arizona, the time changes. We thought we had plenty of time showing up at 9:30 on our clocks for a 10:27 tee time and found out we were late!

The staff was great and greeted us wonderfully (snickered about the time thing) and got us on the course right away. Had a twosome going out and put us with them. Nice folks from Minnesota.

About the course. Has been great, working to be great again. Will be a while. Needs a lot of TLC. Greens ran true but slow, the grass was a little thin. Fairways tight but grass coming back, rough patchy and tight. Rough grass dormant.

Very nice people, and overall condition is very nice, except for all the dogs in the homes around the course barking all the time!

We understand that this course has just reopened. The fairways do need some help but we played 18 holes in January on a day when the wind was blowing continually and it was at 40mph at times. The fairways will come around in the spring. As we were traveling we needed to play it on the day we had reserved so conditions were not favorable. The wind and narrow fairways made it difficult for hitting many fairways for long-ball hitters. The staff was excellent and friendly...could not have been more welcoming.

Course has improved a lot since the tribe took it over, however their are still lots of bald spots that need to fill in before it will be a nice course again.

Golf course needs to work on improving the fairways grass coverage. Course should match the quality of Mohave course.

The course was in terrible shape. It's winter in AZ and this is an Indian owned course. (They can water all year round) the fairways and though are really spotty at best. The greens were slow and sanded.
Its a good place to play if you dont care about much and want to hack it around.
Dont pay the 35.00 plus sticker price! Much better courses in needles and Vegas.

This course has wide fairways so not to hard to keep our golf ball in play. Some fairways were patchy in spots, but overall not bad. The tee off areas were good and so were the greens. Overall it was a nice course to play. Staff were very pleasant. Loaded golf clubs on the cart promptly and were we able to get out on the course right away.

There's nothing a like a well groomed golf course... and Huukan is nothing like a well groomed golf course.

Every fairway had at least one if not many bare patches and even when in the short grass in the middle of the fairway you had a 50/50 chance of having a decent lie as the grass is very sparse.

The greens were in poor condition and it was nothing more than luck fro a 5-foot putt to hold its line.

Every hole looked pretty much the same as the last (apart form #18 which is a nicely designed hole). A very bland course with no notable features.

The restaurant was nothing better than a greasy spoon.

The staff seemed friendly enough.

At "only" $55 it's not overly expensive for an out-of-towner but not nearly worth the money.

Was really a pretty nice course, did have some bare spots, but it looks as if they are trying to fix it up, fairways are narrow, which for some would make it a difficult, by other than that it is a fairly easy course, I shot 74 first time here.

Course was as it was described on Golfnow, it does have some bare spots and if you want a perfectly maintained course this is not for you. But it was fun, the staff friendly and the round worth the price.

A year ago this course was terrible. Great improvent in a short time. Should keep on getting better with the new management, especially after over seeding.
