Bellair Golf Club

About
Bellaire Golf Course in addition to being a good place to practice one's short game it also tests accuracy with long irons. The course aptly tests control over the ball with the irons. Par 4s make up over half the hole at this executive length golf course. Every one of the greens are heavily bunkered and water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. It is close to a residential area but that only creates more narrow fairways, adding more challenge to the game. The course is well shaded and also well maintained, but play can be slow on occasion. Bellaire Golf Course offers many discounts, including a twilight discount, a super twilight discount, and there is also an early morning special.

Don't waste your time !
Only thing worse than this course is the "TEE-OFF" app it self !!
Constantly advertising times that are NOT available !
Constantly charging a DIFFERENT than the posted price !
Having to call customer service 3 times over a 6 hour period to be able to ACTUALLY talk to someone who knows what's going on, and then deal with there attitude !!
And posting add's for golf courses like Bel-Air !!!!
"Glen-lakes" is in better shape !
I read the crappy reviews and figured how bad could it be, believe me I have a new meaning for how bad it can be there was no water on the course, this time of year with the virus it's expected to know water but I'm talking no water as in no water in the bathrooms no water to the facility, the only water on the course were some stinky sewer smelling standing water off in the fairways. Wow. I lasted #5 holes, and that was #5 to many !
Do not play here!
Read all the other reviews. They’re completely accurate. This course pitiful. It’s just absolutely terrible. I would be embarrassed to be associated with it. Thankfully I’m not. Trust me, go somewhere else.
The course is a Goat field
The course is in terrible shape. Fairways not mowed. Tee boxes not mowed. Weeds and grass in sand traps. The hole is overgrown making puts not go in. I just hope for their sake that they get it cleaned up for winter golfers. I won't be going back without physically checking the course.
Not sure if I should give it 5 stars or 1 star...
5 stars for the awesome new “post apocalyptic” theme. Trying out the new weed trap bunkers because the usual hazards weren’t fitting to the theme. However, 1 star for everything else. They must have had their mowers repossessed or possibly they are out of gas? Either way the fairways haven’t seen maintenance since the start of the year. $30 for overgrown everything and no food or beverage service whatsoever is rough if you ask me. It’s sad to watch this landmark golf course go down the drain.
Worst course I've ever played (over 50 years)!!!how can they charge, new owners, to play there??? Dirt fairways n foot tall patches ofweeds. 2 feet weeds in n around bunkers with no sand. 4" fringes n tee boxes.
Only One Lawnmower
Again, as it happened on the 2nd, i lost a sleeve of balls. Normally that's not a problem but when it happens on the fairways due to uncut grass, it's annoying as can be!!!! NO NEED OF THIS AT ALL!!!! Last visit for quite awhile. Going to PVGC from now on!!
This course is not maintained
Had the grass up to my knees pretty much all over the course. it was extremely bad around the edges of the green. I would literally lose my ball every hole for 10 minutes trying to find my ball.. 2 feet away from the green. makes no sense. Easily worst conditioned course i've ever played at
Pathetic conditions
There was an ownership change during late 2019 and within a year the new ownership has managed to ruin what was once a nice place to play were you felt at home and developed friendships. No teetimes before 6 AM, closed on Mondays, what sense is there in that, and now they close in the afternoons during the weekdays. The prior ownership was the total opposite of this and there were always plenty of players on the course. Speaking of the course, you better bring a hammer to help drive your tees in the tee boxes. Speaking of the tee boxes, mostly sand, a little grass here in there, and if there is grass, it’s long and needs cut. Now let’s talk fairways. They are absolutely horrible and need cut and have needed cut for weeks. Lately, they’ve been cutting locations around the course that can be seen from the street, but that’s about it. The collars around the greens are overgrown, a foot to a foot and a half tall grass, that’s not an exaggeration, and you end up spending more time looking for your golf balls I’m actually playing. I’ve been playing this course for over 15 years and have watched the weekday and weekend participation dwindled down to nothing. The parking lot used to be packed on the weekends, not anymore. Ownership… Read the reviews, pull your head out of your rear end and pay attention. It’s my understanding you have a three-year plan in place. The more logical approach approach would be a three day or three week plan. At the rate you’re going you’re you will end up in chapter 11 or 13 before much longer. Do us all a favor and sell the place or take care of it, one or the other. Obviously you’re not capable of taking care of it so please sell.
Bad, bad shape.
I have loved this course for many years, but it was in the worse possible condition. 2-3 feet of grass all over the fairways. 2-3 feet of soaking wet, very green grass immediately next to the greens. I know they have a water problem but trimming next to the greens would have been nice. Our foursome must have lost a dozen balls that were less than 5 feet of off the greens. Cart paths broken with huge holes have never been fixed over the past 5 years. The only redeeming factor was the guy in the pro shop. Very nice and professional.
Weeds Everywhere
I lost maybe 4 sleeves of balls in the fairway. Knee high grass down the fairway meant spending half of the round looking for shots I hit down the middle.
Fairways
I can lose a ball on my own. I don't need the help this grounds crew gave me. I actually lost 3 balls....in the tall grass...ON THE FAIRWAY!!! I also found a ball or two but not the ones i use. No need for this AT ALL!!!!!
Great Value for the Money
New Management is doing a great job and keeping the green fees affordable. For this time of year the course was in good shape. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to my friends. Has a good mix of short par threes with a couple par fours on each nine. Perfect for the old crowd that doesn’t hit as far as they use to.
Sad decline of this executive course
CA checked us in and was very personable and nice. The pro shop has been remodeled but there are no clothes.
The on-course bathrooms at 6 and 14 were remodeled and clean.
Most of the tee boxes were hard (a few I had to use both hands to get my tee in the ground) and a few were either dirt or sand. The sand traps were very hard and had lots of weeds. The areas that were green were really deep and don’t appear to have been mowed. The rest was yellow grass and had not been watered in a while.
The website didn’t mention the restaurant was closed so don’t expect to have a breakfast burrito.
Courses green worst Ive ever seen playing on clumps of dead grass
The place looks abandoned! Was told water was off due to mower not working. ! Its a dump!!!!!
Avoid
This course needs to be closed for a year for maintenance. If you want to actually play golf you need to go elsewhere!
SAVE YOUR MONEY
This course is a disaster. The pro shop staff informed me AFTER the round that the water pumps were broke and will be up and running soon. There was no warning or alert on the tee time as to the conditions. There is not 1 blade of grass on this course, maybe a few on the greens. It is a dirt field. Probably doing your game more harm than good playing here.
Out of Business
See review from May 20th. I had the same experience, not a blade of grass on the course and they told me the pumps were broke till a few days ago. Obviously they are not telling the truth. I believe they are going "out of business" and this place should be shut down NOW.
It a complete disgrace that they let anybody play on it in these conditions.
I think you have hit the nail on the head. I feel like this course is going the way of Via De Paz. New owners let the course go to crap, no income, bankruptcy looms so they get it re-zoned and sell it for a big chunk of change. Some developer comes in and builds condos/apartments. No more golf course.
