Bellair Golf Park in addition to being a good place to practice one's short game it also tests accuracy with long irons. The course aptly tests control over the ball with the irons. Par 4s make up over half the hole at this executive length golf course. Every one of the greens are heavily bunkered and water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. It is close to a residential area but that only creates more narrow fairways, adding more challenge to the game. The course is well shaded and also well maintained, but play can be slow on occasion. Bellair Golf Park offers many discounts, including a twilight discount, a super twilight discount, and there is also an early morning special.

We were 25 minutes early for our tee time , on arrival no one was on the tee, , they would not let us go ahead and tee off, for the next 20 minutes the tee stayed empty, what a waste! ,

New layout

Played the course back in 2020. Layout was different this time around and it was enjoyable. Pace of play was smooth and greens were in great condition.

Pleasant surprise

Course had been closed for quite a while. Wasn't expecting it to reopen. When I found out it reopened I wasn't sure what to expect. It was quite surprised what great shape it was in. I want to try out the driving range.

A great comeback for this nice executive course

The new owners have done a great job in reopening and revitalizing this executive course. The driving range looks very nice along with the repaved parking lot, surrounding landscaping & updated restrooms (players- keep them clean & don't leave a mess). Upgrades are still ongoing. Even at this point, the improvements are 10x better than in the past. The fairways and greens are in great shape. As management has no doubt heard before, you need to slow the greens a little. They are very fast and difficult with the slope. We played in 3 hours. The staff are super friendly. Bottomline, play this course . It's definitely worth it.

The new Bellair

Course is nice. The bunkers are hard and do not have sand in them yet. The Tees are solid and need some reseeding but acceptable. The greens are fantastic and fast. The course is not muddy and overwatered. Tree cleanup is ongoing but not an issue. They are doing a good job and slowly getting the course up to a high standard. Will play again.

Flipped 9s

The 1st tee used to be next to the clubhouse but since the renovations it is now across the street from the range. BTW: despite what Golf Now says, the range is open. Need a sign at #10 so groups don’t tee off there thinking it is still the 1st hole. Otherwise, this a fun short course to play.

Not what I expected

Fairways were fine but sand traps were like hitting out of cement

Good first visit

My understanding is the course recently reopened and they are doing it right. The fairways were very good and you could easily hit off the dirt where rough would normally be unless you were close to the fairway. The greens were fast and consistent and many putts had to be delicately hit or they would run away from you. Next time I will know better. A snack bar should be in place in a few weeksThey indicated that more sand for traps is in the future but they were clean and consistent.

Bellaire - Back from the Dead

Played here back in its heyday, so glad that it was saved from the typical 'condo wrecking ball', being that it was left for dead as recently as last summer.

Pros - fairways in excellent shape, lots of real improvements happening daily, good price for Phx winter golf, pro shop help friendly and positive (total opposite of 'old' Bellaire in the 80s/90s)

Cons - sand traps could use some actual sand; greens so fast that ball actually rolled back downhill on two putts on 17, be more aware of this when choosing pin placement; add one more tee box per hole (hopefully coming soon!)

I assumed it would be better

We were deceived by the 4.5 rating on golfnow. It’s a crappy little course in a run-down neighborhood. Online reviews were quite positive, but I have no idea why. Greens were fast, sand traps hard and flat (so balls generally bounced out or rolled right through) and while the fairways were green, off fairway was dirt. Pace of play for this executive course was slow (almost 4 hours). The course was not expensive, but there are better deals on golf now for full size courses in better shape than this. I won’t be back.
