About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

The Haven is a Great Golf course.
I really enjoy playing the Haven the do a great job. The conditions are outstanding and they have sand in the traps a rare thing in Green Valley. The staff is very friendly,

Getting better
Last time I played here the fairways were in need of attention. This time there's new grass. Greens we're in very good condition. Sand traps were more like gravel pits. A lot of bare ground between the tee boxes and fairways. Nice views of the mountains. Paid $40.00 to play. Pretty good deal. Don't know if I'd be willing to pay the regular rack rate. Gas powered carts. I thought those were against the law.

Pace of play
Pace of play was so slow. We paid for 18 but only played 9. We waited on every single shot. Took over 21/2 hours to play 9 holes.

Players who chose to walk were charged the same rate as those with carts.

Nice, wide course
First time at the Haven. We got a late start following a tournament but still did a 3 1/2 hr round. Fairways were decent; greens as well, but a bit slow. All in all, good, reasonable golf course. Friendly An hour’s drive but on occasion, worth a visit.

Slow, slow and slower
The course caters to locals who are retired and octogenarians. No marshals were seen which resulted in a crawl for pace of play. Waiting 15-20 minutes at each hole takes away from the enjoyment. Will not return.
