Championship at Viewpoint Golf Resort

I have appreciated Viewpoint for many years. During the season it’s typically one of the best value courses in the East Valley; however, it’s in a slump at the moment. Lots of bald spots on the tee boxes and fairways. In addition, the greens are patchy and bumpy at the moment. For $50 a person there are many other courses not destroyed by the heat.

We played on an overnight rainy day and they decided to make it cart path only for the day. Except, there were no puddles on the course and the grass was actually not that wet. Made the round a less enjoyable for the type of condition it was walking in the heat/humidity. We also saw an employee (from what appeared) playing as a single driving all over the course. My guess he didn’t know or maybe was a maintenance staff member who noticed the conditions were not worthy of cart path only.

I won’t be playing here summer months but would like to see how they bounce back in the Fall and Spring.

Given time of year and the heat, course wasn’t perfect but overall pretty good condition. Some dry spots and dirt, but I was impressed. Greens were slow, pace of play was incredibly fast, I finished 18 in about 2:45.

To be expected because of the heat there are places on the course where the the grass is non existent. The T boxes were not their best but playable. This is a fun course and I will return. In season this course is well kept.

First time playing since last summer. Course is in fairly good shape. Some tee boxes need some work. Greens were in good condition. Payed $37.21 last August and September, and now in July $43.21.

I had a great 1st time playing there experience. Everyone was super nice and course was in great shape. Had a great Reuben sandwich after.

Green and tees were in good condition. Fairways we a little beat up in spots but acceptable. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Played in 4 hours 20 minutes with only a slight delay at each box.

Most employees are kind and friendly. Some can be a bit rude depending on the attitude they choose.

I enjoy this course.

Course is a gem. Holes are together instead of thru subdivisions. Layout and contours are pleasing. Some greens have excessive slopes but overall well done. Ponds are strategically placed but not overly penal. Just a relaxing enjoyable experience.

The course is in good condition other than a couple of tee boxes being a little chewed up from over use. The pace was acceptable until we caught up with a slow hitting very slow walking 3 some that slowed things down considerably. Mounding caused balls hit left or right of the fairway to tend to roll back into the fairway and for the most part even moderately off line tee shots will end up in a good resting spot. There are plenty of tree to provide shade if you do have to wait on a shot under the Arizona sun.

It was fun to play - we will go again.

Fast greens as always. Great fairways. Great amenities to include numerous restrooms on course. Start could use some work had groups bunched up with no one behind the last and no one in front of the front. But overall great course especially for the summer rate. Will be back because I will break 80s soon.
