Oakcreek Country Club is situated amongst Sedona's red rock mountains, providing unique scenery throughout. Opened over 40 years ago, it is Sedona's first golf course. The course was a collaboration between Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and his son. It is a classic, player-friendly layout that offers plenty of room for error. There are also several opportunities to recover errant shots incorporated into the design. Despite its forgiving nature, the golf course definitely has its challenges. There are tree-lined fairways with bunkers strategically positioned in the landing areas and elevated greens bordered by large, swirling bunkers. Three lakes also come into play on five holes. Oakcreek Country Club requires accuracy as well as length in order to score well. Next to the clubhouse there are extensive practice facilities including a large driving range with target areas, a practice green, putting and chipping greens, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

Views to die for

Amazing course in immaculate condition with amazing views on almost every hole. Keep camera ready. Greens were fast but played true, always break away from the red rocks directly beside clubhouse.

The last was the best

Absolutely the best course I played this week. Course was in amazing condition and the greens rolled perfect. Pace of play was outstanding. 18 hole in 2 1/2 hours. This course will be the top of my list when I return.

Sedona's Gem

The excellence begins at check in with the pro shop personnel and gets better. The trees on the course offer ample shade when needed, but do not come into play. The course is in excellent shape. Keeping the ball in the fairway is a must, the rough is fair, but rough. The par 3 13 hole is beautiful. Play 1 1/2 extra clubs to the uphill green framed by the red rocks in the background. We always ensure OCC is on our list when we visit Sedona.

Thunder and Lightening

Wow! What a great course. The fairways, greens, and tees are in great shape. The altitude (4000) added 20 yards to my drives. We were delayed twice due to lightening in the area but was able to compete my round. Best time to start is early morning to complete your round before the storms come in around 2 PM. The red rock views are impressive.

Lack of professionalism

Starter was not friendly and more concerned with whoever he was texting. Cart barn staff is clueless. They tooky cart while I was in the bar and tossed everything of mine including my sunglasses. Bartender was not friendly either. Pro shop staff is great.

Great course, lousy bunkers

This course has an above average layout with plenty of diversity between holes. My only complaint has to do with the bunkers. Almost every bunker has a very shallow layer of sand with hard clay underneath. The course needs to spend some bucks and add some sand and it would be perfect

Nice course

The only problem with the course was the slow play from several groups. We had to go around a 2-some that didn't have a clue how to behave on a golf course, and were delayed by a 2-some that wouldn't hit off the tee ON A PAR 4 until the group in front was off the green?? Then there was the 3-some that had 1 guy hanging off the back of the cart. Other than the slow play it was a nice round.
