Wickenburg Country Club

Like a previous reviewer this course is definitely a hidden gem. Course is in phenomenal shape from tee to green. Greens actually are soft enough to receive approach shots, leave a ball mark but still are smooth and in excellent shape. Also there were no ball marks as previous golfers were repairing them. Fairways are green, roughsh are brown lending to a very pleasing look to the course. The staff was very accommodating and I will definitely be back to play this course again. I played this course about a year ago and at first thought this placed is crazy and tricked up. A couple of the first 4 holes are tight and require accurate shots "basic target golf". Then it opens up somewhat. The course is tight and you need to know where you want to hit the shot. This year I knew the course layout and had a lot of fun. The condition of the course was near perfect for late January the greens were soft and smooth and fairly quick. The fairways were excellent. The tee boxes are the only thing this course needs to work on. There are several great views of the surrounding mountains as well. The white tees at 5600 yards seems short on the card but trust this all most golfers would want. The blue tees will have more blind shots and very long par 3's.
I will go back every chance I get.

Nice layout...will be back. Greens pretty smooth. Only knock is the par3's - played 240, 235, 205 - a bit much for. 6300 yd layout.

Great value, for $45, great course conditions and great golf if you enjoy playing target golf. The course doesn't play long but you have to keep the ball in play if you want to score. It is one of those courses you have to play a couple of times to really understand what to hit and where you can miss. The greens were great in December and we are excited to go back in the future. The only critique we would have is If you have not played here before it can be somewhat of a challenge finding the blue tee boxes from some of the cart paths and the par 3's are long from the blue tees so you may want to play the whites on the par 3's.

Your work just begins when you get on the greens, they are fast and undulation. This course is not boring.

Narrow fairways and small greens. For the most part leave your driver in the bag and that is what makes this course so much fun. Sometimes you want to play a round and not worry about long drives and concentrate on placement. I will be back

This course is greatly improved in its conditiong and overseeding . The fairways are now in very good shape. Still must hit the ball very straight.

the course had just been overseeded, so was a little thin in places, but had a great round. Certainly not a walkers course, lots of travel between holes in places.

This is a beautiful course that plays quickly. This course is also a great value for your money.

Overall, I enjoyed the course. Pace was great as we finished in 3 hours, playing through one group and waiting a bit on the last 3 holes. Conditions were good considering that they were 1.5 weeks off over-seed. The back nine was in better shape than the front, and it was a much better set of holes than the front. Plenty of challenge, but not long, except for the par 3's which played 245 and 228 from the back tees. The front side is tight, which isn't necessarily a problem, but there were too many blind tee shots for my liking...very difficult to score on the front without having played it a time or two.

excellent golf course but unacceptable pace of play. 5 hours behind a 3 some. 4 below 10 handicappers all shot 80 or less from the long white tees. We played the proper tees for us. GREAT GREENS, excellent fairways, good sand. Management should police where a group plays. Some carries are over a lot of desert. You need to be straight. Card says 6000 yards but plays like 6300 or 6400 because of uphill holes. This will be a 5 star location when finished. Good practice area. Pro shop is a trailer so don't expect amenities. Staff is friendly considering the spartan area they work in. Definitely a great course, well marked.

I got there at a perfect time when there was no one in front or behind me so I was able to play a practice round and even hit a few 2 balls. I was very impressed with the condition of the course especially the greens. The ball rolled true on every green.
Has some challenging holes with interesting hazards.
Lunch was delicious, staff friendly, and I was able to replay the front 9 and improve my score. It was a fun day. Worth the drive. Can't wait to go back with a friend.

Generally all was good. Greens putted very well, fairways in good shape. Enjoyed the terrain. One hole had a temporary tee box.

I played this course back when it was just 9 holes. The addition of the second 9 has made Wickenburg C.C. a very interesting and challenging course. Narrow fairways to hit from the tees and long par threes are just a couple of difficulties I found. The fairways and greens were in great shape, but DO NOT get off the fairway. On most holes if you do, you will not have a very good lie.
All in all, I had a very enjoyable time on a very nice course.

Short course but narrow. Course in very good condition greens very nice but could be a little faster.

My fiancé and I are fairly new to the game of golf. We loved this course because of the scenery, and the laid back atmosphere. Lunch was great that we had at clubhouse before we started. Worth the drive and would go back any day.

There is a rustic feel at this golf course. The conditions are very good but the over feel is that of being far away....you might see a cowboy brushing his horse (hole 10) or a train going by.....gravel cart path...a very nice topography where on some holes you tee off from an elevation looking down on the fairway. Just a fun course.

Bring your 'straight' game. if you are slicing or hooking....you are going to have trouble (bring extra balls). But if you can hit 'em straight, you will love this golf course.

I just hit easy and straight and it works for me.

Check it out. Greens are very good. Fairways maintained well. Enjoyed more from whites than blue due to some par 3 lengths. Fun to play and good price. Worth the trip from Surprise.
