A Gem.
Was looking to get away from the heat in Tucson where I live. Looked for courses in northern AZ that had good reviews, looked like an interesting lay out and was reasonable in price. My son and I drove the 275 miles to play this course and we were not disappointed. To me it seemed to give you a chance for a very good start and then try to hold on. For what I would consider a small rural, local course it is in excellent condition. Greens rolled great, but watch the grain and slope or you could get surprised. Only downfall is gravel entry and parking. Very dusty.
Played ER Multiple Times
I drive the 30 minutes to Williams from Flagstaff because Elephant Rocks is the best public course in the region. Since I'm in my 70's, I play from the Green tees 5427 yards making the length of holes reasonable. The fairways and tees are in great shape, the greens hold shots and putt true (if you can read them). Continental CC plays slower and usually is more expensive. I'll have to drive to Sedona, Cottonwood or Prescott when ER closes.
Amazing Course
Minus Pace of Play have nothing bad to say!
Well worth the 2hr drive from Anthem
Will def play again in the Future!
Elephant Rocks Golf
This course was alot of fun. Had some very interesting holes, especially on the back nine. Would definitely play this course again.
Too rude to play again.
I liked the course and the price was more than fair. But one crockery cuss rudely approached us because i jumped on the back of a cart to cross the street to the next few box. I wish that I could say that it didn't ruin the experience but it did. There's just no need or place for that. I won't be back.
Always Beautiful
Try to drive up to Williams once a month to play this course and it is always beautiful at 6000 feet of elevation. The course is in really good shape right now and I hope to squeeze in another round or two before they close for the winter.
Rocks!
Had a great experience today! My wife loved the layout and views for the ladies. Highly recommend!
Great course!
This was a nice surprise of a course! It's a nice mountain course, but mostly without major elevation changes, and no "circus" holes. It's not super long, but from the back tees it provides a nice challenge. Fairways were very nice, and even though it looked like the greens had been punched in the last week or two, the greens rolled pretty true. This is my new must play when I'm traveling in the area.
Bring all your Clubs
Tough course first 10 holes not to hard to deal with, but last 4 or 5 will test your patience and skill level
Course was in great condition especially when considering lack of recent rain. Fairways in excellent shape and greens fast.
Course marshall
The course marshall was friendly, engaging and helpful. Played in 3hr 45min. No push or pull in play. Some exciting holes. Drove up solely to escape the desert oven and well worth the trip.
Elephant Rocks
The course is beautiful and I love the layout.
However, it seemed to be over watered. I had 4 balls plug in the fairway and in front of the green. Also they are having a wasp and yellow Jacket problem. We were constantly swarmed throughout our round and my wife was stung by a Tarantula Wasp while sitting the cart right in front of the pro shop. The foursome in front of us was also under attack from the stinging pests. They really need to address this issue as it really devalued our round.
Best of The Boulders Package
This "gentleman" opinion is not valid and should be removed. "He jumped on the back of a cart to cross the street to get to the next tee box" and thought that was okay!
Sorry, not a very thoughtful human being.
