Never Disappoints
The staff and the course at Elephant Rocks never disappoint. . Very nice muni, well maintained. Greens roll true and fairways are in reasonably good shape. This is our go to course when our club is closed, booked for a member event, or to escape the heat. The setting is great change from the rocks and desert of Prescott and Phoenix. .
Challenging layout
I have played this course several times over the last10 years enjoying every time. Will continue to play this course.
Over rated course
For the price -not a good value and course in terrible condition.
Golfnow did not register tee time with course.
The staff was very accommodating when my confirmation number was not received by them from Golfnow. They were able to get us on very close to the original tee time it was booked for. Great time at the course. Not sure what happened between Golfnow and registering with course.
Very Good Mountain Course
Nice course. It winds through the forest and then opens up into an open meadow, then back into the trees again. Hit it straight (Duh!), you will lose a couple balls. Greens were tricky, watch your speed. Fairways were near perfect - no dead/dried out areas. #16 is not even fair for the casual golfer. Get ready for a 7. Good pace-of-play at 7:30am - finished at 11.
Amazing scenery and play
I've heard people talk about Elephant Rocks and finally got to play it yesterday. I was impressed with the layout and upkeep of the course. The greens were fast and more challenging than others I've played recently. It was windy but still a great day to be out golfing.
Great Golf Course
Elephant Rocks is a great Golf course. The course plays tight in some areas and wide open in others. The greens roll true. If the wind is blowing this course gets very tough.
Well Worth It
I drove from Phoenix to come out and play this course with a friend (who recommended to me). I can’t complain about anything about this course. Well worth the trip, money, and time. Greta condition from tee box, to fairways to greens. The views and weather was awesome. Will be back again soon.
Great Course Great Price!
You can easily spend $100 for 18 holes in the Flagstaff area. Second time I played ER in four weeks and excellent conditions each time. I was a single, two groups waved me through and played in 2 1/2 hours! A moderately difficult course 5427 yards from the Front Tees, 6082 from the Whites. You will especially enjoy number 17 (Par 5) and 18 a Par 3.
This historical course is a must!
The course views are INCREDIBLE. It was such a fun round to play and the fairways are wide open which helps not psych yourself out too much. HUGE par 4's and par 5's so if you're not savvy with that driver, it will be a long day for you but still worth it! The course has cool history too. The only downside to this course was there was no course marshal to direct players and therefore everyone was stacked on top of each other which was frustrating. When I am back in town I will be sure to stop by and play again!
Beautiful and great value
22 handicap
Escaped the Phoenix heat and played a beautiful course with a challenging layout. 1st time I played the course in more than 15 years.
The course was in great shaped in a beautiful setting. Homes have started springing up around the course but never in danger of an errant t-shot. $40 for a 11:20 tee-time with distant views of snow capped peaks - can’t beat-it.
