a great course to play
We teed off in the morning it was 30 degrees. A wonderful experience we had deer walking across one Fairway as we got ready to tee off. lots of Wildlife everywhere on this course. a little too much goose poop but other than that it was a perfect day
A municipal gem
Carved out of the big trees west of Flagstaff, this is a wonderful course. A nice mix of easier and harder holes and it is in fine condition. Nice range, nice chipping/putting green, nice staff and the twilight rate is a real bargain. Don't miss the 650 year old Juniper on #17. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.
Good value
Great little public course in cool Williams, AZ. Not crowded.
My wife and I had a great day of golf. Greens fast and rolling true. It is always nice to play on bent greens and get out of the heat of Phoenix. Scott and his staff are the greatest. Will be back soon
Beautiful course, it’s a gem!
Love this course, it’s a beautiful area & although very challenging, I always enjoy playing here! Definitely need to be accurate off the tee to score well & the greens are pretty fast but roll nice.
Secret jewel in Az
Elephant Rocks is a great Golf course and is a secret jewel in Az. The layout is challenging and the greens are perfect. A few tight fairways will test accuracy off the tee. 16 thru 18 will keep all players in check!
Best Conditions
Elephant Rocks is a summer fave of mine. The course was in the best condition I have played it in a few years. Well worth the drive from Phoenix. Fun course and great weather. Only downside is the restaurant food, but across the 40 in Williams are some good spots.
Hidden Gem on Northen Arizona
This is a fantastic muni course. I've been several times and its always in good condition. A fun layout with elevation change, water, pine straw hazard, ect. Definitely worth the price and the drive.
A "Jewel" for serious golfers. Must play
IF your going to the see Grand Canyon and you are a golfer this is a mature course with amazing challenges on several holes. The middle "whites" are a 120 slope but plays more like a 126-28. The course is very mature. A lot of contours and for a mountain course plenty of water.
Beautifully manicured
The course was in superb condition. The greens were fast, but well manicured. A fun round.
Great high desert course
This course is at around 7,000 feet. The temperature was at least 20 degrees cooler than at our Arizona home at 3.500 feet. This course kicked my butt but it was very windy. There are a few shorter par 4s to give you hope but some holes (17 par 5 for example) are very challenging to remind you that golf is difficult.
Great Course - Fantastic Price
Winter is coming and Elephant Rocks will be closing Sunday, November 18. I had a 10:00 tee time and temp was 35 degrees. Apparently I was the first to tee off that morning. The only cars in the lot were mine and the owner plus some workers. The first nine holes, fairways and greens were frozen. My drives were amazing with the frozen fairways! The ball just kept on rolling and had only a few short chip shots to the green. Unfortunately,, the greens were frozen as well and had to punch shots onto the green because if you hit them high they would bounce way past the green. Even so, the course was in great shape for this late in the season.. I had the course to myself and never saw another golfer until I was on hole 15. I play Elephant Rocks about 8 to 10 times a season and is one of my favorite courses in Northern AZ. The staff is excellent and the course is always in great shape and can hardly wait for the opening of the 2019 season at this gem of a course in Williams, AZ.
