Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

The greens were air rated and rough and the fairways had numerous divots.
December golf! Edgar else can i say... course was in great shape considering it's almost Christmas.. thanks for being open guys.
Tell us the greens were aerated when booking.
What can I say other than the greens were hot bad they were horrible. Never saw putts bounce this bad. I know this is the time of year to aerate, but at least roll them so it somewhat resembles a green!
Be prepared for a slow round
Course uses no on course monitors so play is almost always slow. Course is in decent condition but greens and bunkers were in poor condition.
Tanna Farms
Some greens and fairways had bare spots or areas. People obviously not replacing divots or repairing ball marks on the greens. Nice layout and fun course to play with some easier holes and some challenging holes. They have cut down marsh areas (high) grasses and weeds and course looks very different, but nice affect. Recent aireation of greens made for some tricky putting. Pace was pretty good with mix of twosomes and foursomes. Recommend Tanna Farms Golf.
Wet and wild
This run is very challenging so you better bring your "A" game. The sand traps and water can eat you up if you are errant with your shot making. Unfortunately we played a day after a 3" rainfall the night before so all the sand traps were unplayable (many under water) and some fairways were soggy with standing water. The greens had also recently been aerated, making putting very difficult and actually unfair as balls were diverted by the "swiss cheese" hole patterns. I would not play this course again in the fall after aeration since its difficult enough without bad greens.
Great value
Tanna is always a good value. Such a interesting and unique layout. Greens needed some work and most sandtraps were solid dirt/sand. Played in 3.50.
Ughhhhh- quirkiness just to be quirky is never good
Won't play here again. Staff was fine. Course not in the best shape. Course is definitely not walkable. Layout is awful, the worst my buddy had seen and he's a pro golfer. One tee box was a couple thousand yards apart from the next. The course was designed to be quirky, with no actual reason for doing so. There is no rough. You either hit the fairway, or lose your ball because of the 6 foot plus tall grass/weeds surrounding the entire course.
A couple of island greens. An island FAIRWAY. 2 600+ yard par 5's. 6 out of 18 holes were par 3's. Literally the oddest course I have ever played. Not nearly worth paying $70 when I can go play a Trent Jones designed course near me for the same amount.
Course Maintenance
This is an odd course - starts off with a short par 3 over water. The course itself is not overly difficult and there is some picturesque scenery. My only big complaint is that the course has been poorly maintained over the years. Cart paths are mostly paved, but have deteriorated to the point that they are bubbling up and falling apart. Neither the greens or the fairways have been well kept. Divots, dead grass and unrepaired ball marks are the norm. In addition, the sand traps are more like gravel pits or hard packed clay. The course has potential, but has been neglected for too long.
For a beginning golfer this is not the course to learn on. This is more for the golfer who has some experience with his game. Lots of par 5 holes running between houses makes it very challenging.
