Tanna Farms Golf Club
About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Great pace of play
The greens and the sand needed a little work, but everything else was great. Not many people out which was great. We were able to get in 17 before the sunset. 3 par threes on the front makes for a long back 9. The par threes are also very very short.
Tanna Farms
Course was very wet due to overnite and morning rains. Traps were full of water and players do not fix ball marks on greens or replace divots. Course was cart path only today. Conditions at this course are normally better, except players normally do not fix ball marks or replace divots. Course should remind players when they check in at the course.
Course in poor condition.
Course was not up to usual Tanna standards. Many greens either burned or diseased.
Disappointing
Greens look diseased. Soggy in some areas and dry in others. Many divots weren’t repaired. No ranger to keep Things moving and patrolled.
Could be great
Great layout. Not maintained very well. Would not play again for $57.
Course is in fair to average shape
Tanna's clubhouse and restaurant are closed. Proshop is open. Course begins with an island Par 3 and has no warm up range and a post stamp putting green not representative of the greens on the course. Greens are getting pretty chewed up this year with the hot weather - and course is over watered in places. We had a few plugged balls near greens. Course does not return to the clubhouse until the 18th. No running water to be had through out the round. Bring your own beverages or stock up the minute you see the beverage cart....there's not much a of selection in the pro-shop....the beverage cart selections are pretty limited as well. Tanna has an interesting routing generally a decent but not spectacular design. If you play the blue tees be forwarned that the back nine will eat your lunch - forced carries and 3 long long par 5's. The 12th hole is a target tee shot......and now unfortunately the 13th hole tee shot is very much the same as they let the smelly swamp grow all the way across what was never a dry fairway to begin with so you have an additional forced carry to fend with. 3 stars but trending downward as the course does need some TLC. Pace of place was very good - under 4 hours teeing off late morning. Recommend but it's a $30-$35 value. Any more and you feel like you're overpaying for what you get.....a real lack of facilities/amenities. And now for some good news or a rumor......nearby Mill Creek Golf Club which has been closed may reopen next season under the GolfVisions mgmt team. Drove by Mill Creek to see what was going on and they are still cutting, watering and somewhat maintaining it. It looked a lot greener than Tanna did! Let's cross our fingers Mill Creek re-opens - a better course and it also has a range and par 3 course.
Needs work
The course is in poor condition needs some work. Greens had some bad spots. Fairways were in need of some work as well. Cart girl only saw on hole 13.
Tana Farms is a good place to play .
Tana Farms is a nice place to play but needs a little TLC. Tees are all chewed up, fairways are very over watered ,especially close to the greens. Restaurant is still closed, even though they have a covered outdoor facility. They use to have a Senior rate of about $30.00, now just a more expensive rate for a lesser maintain course.
Pleasant experience
Great course with surely enough challenges but also opportunities to score low on some holes. Will play it again.
Nice back 9
Own the Par 3s on the front, because the back 9 has some long Par 5s and tricky shape. Greens were a little chewed up, but overall a fun place to play. Bring an extra sleeve!
Good Course for the $
Greens we’re extremely burnt up and so were numerous fairways. Good course for the money though.
Poor conditions and even worse with pace of play.
Poor conditions and even worse pace of play. We had to skip a few holes just to ensure we got the round in, even with a 3:40pm tee time.
Nothing is maintained, the fairways were full of water and soggy gras and the greens were burnt and in many cases you putted off dirt.
I didn’t like it the first time I played but tried a second time. Super disappointing!
