Great course
Excellent layout it’s usually in good shape. There are a few holes on the back nine that are cart path only.
Great Course
Best I've played all year. Greens were quick and true, plenty of water to get yourself in trouble, but not make it impossible. Needs better sand in the bunkers, but that seems to be a common theme in DFW, and I'll take the over watering over hard pan and dead spots all day.
Outstanding course
Me and a friend were in Texas for work in Granbury. Chose to play Harbor Lakes. Absolutely love this course. Tee boxes well maintained, nice clean fairways, solid greens. Bunkers are a downside. They are more waste bunkers than typical sand bunkers but still managed to hit a few flop shot out of them. They have a great driving range and putting area. It’s all covered in the price of play so no paying extra to go warm up. The food at the club house is also fantastic. Free ice and water before you start the round. I’ve cold towels for the hot days like when we played. Will recommended for others to check the course out. If ever I’m in the area I’ll be sure to go play another round
The Course IS the Lake
Played here several times the last few years, and usually enjoy it, despite the droves of old boomers driving around in their “Look at me” Golf Carts with rain shields and true spoke rims. 🤣🤣🤣 However, someone needs to get in the ear of management and tell them to shut down the irrigation on this course for a week at least. North Texas has had 3 feet of rain in the last few months, and Harbor “Lake” is the wettest, muddiest course around. ***STOP OVER WATERING*** This isn’t June 2023.
Holes, 2, 9, 14, and 17 are just nasty mud pits around the edges. 14 has always been a joke, but the other holes don’t need the amount of water they are getting. I’ll check back in the Fall, and see if the “Lake” has dried up.
Harbor Lakes
Looked online and there was a breakfast menu, but weekdays there’s no grill. Multiple holes we had to wait for the sprinklers to quit before we could finish the hole. Some bunkers were filled with water. Staff was super friendly. Course was beautiful green. Greens were difficult but in great shape. I drove well over an hour to play, and I’d do it again to play here.
Harbor Lakes a GEM
Played there a few times several years ago and it became my favorite in the area.
I was not disappointed . It is still at the top of my list. Planning on returning soon
pace of play
Too many players in some groups which made for very slow play. (6hr& 45min) STUPID
good layout
With exception to the bunkers, the course is in great shape. I've played the course many times and don't understand why they keep the bunkers since they aren't playable (rocks, hard sand, etc.). Fix and maintain the bunkers and the course would be great.
