Golfer Reviews
Surprisingly fun layout
This was my first time playing Shoreline and I was pleasantly surprised by the layout. The designer got very creative with a flat open field. Numerous doglegs in every direction and some water hazards along with forced carries over barranca really kept the course interesting.
As for the conditions, they are average at best. Greens rolled smooth and a nice medium fast pace. That was the good. the fairways were mainly, thin, dead and patchy grass. Occasionally you’d get a decent lie, but often it was the opposite.
Some bunkers were excellent and others were poor. All and all the conditions were about what I expected going into the round.
Course is walkable which I will most likely do next time around.
Didn’t honor golf now price
They didn’t want to honor what was set up on golf now. I showed them multiple other tee times at the same price with the same offer. Pro shop told me that it was a senior rate and it is golf Joe’s mistake.
I feel bad!
It’s been over a year since the last time I played here! Not much has changed for the better! Only saw the geese on #9 #10! 😉 All in all, tee boxes & fairways were the same (worn out)! Greens were a little inconsistent! (Monday bumpiness and full of ball-marks) Fairways were dried out and full of gopher holes! Fewer squirrels! Good price through golf now! I have always liked the lay-out! I have played this course many times since it first opening! I have seen this course in pristine conditions and feel disappointed in what it has become! Some of the blame should fall on the players! Lack of divot repair, carts driven right up to the greens, non-repair of ball marks! This course was once a very, very nice course! It would be nice to see it come back to all its glory!
Much improved from 2 years ago
Most of the reviews saying the course is in bad shape are inaccurate. There are native areas around fairways that have rodent holes and you could lose balls, fairways are in really good shape with the exception of literally small areas of a few fairways. Bunkers and greens are in great shape. Most holes are in great shape if you keep it in the short stuff and out of trouble.
Went out at 6am on Sunday and there was no starter so easy to have singles or twosomes going out. For those looking to get out under 3.5 hours early mornings, this may not be your spot. The staff were friendly and I’d definitely play here again.
Nice round
Course was in good condition especially the greens.i finished 18 in 4.5 hours which is great for a Saturday in the Bay Area.
May 9 afternoon game
Over all I enjoyed the course, but disappointed that drinking water system was not working on hole 6 and the bathroom sign stating the bathroom at hole 12 was closed was not post before going up to 12.
Great Wide Open Course
Shoreline is a spacious course
However keep an eye out for a longer play time.
Expect to join up with other groups or individuals to speed up the game.
And reminder to those holding up the course. Play faster or wave up faster players. It’s a common courtesy and standard.
Good course for the price
Other reviews get a little karen about the course conditions. They seem to be making improvements and it's winter and it's been a very wet one at that. I will agree that pace of play is painful. It's seems like most people walk and that's admirable if you can but pick it up a little or get a cart. Its very unlikely you will get 18 in with any tee time after 12 so maybe next time I'll mentally prepare for a nice slow 9. I will be back but probably not routinely.
