Unfair golfnow course fee
Booked on golfnow. Course was in great condition, however a lightning storm started before the back nine, and we were told, sorry no rainchecks for golfnow reservations. The storm continued until dark, so we were out of luck. That is just bad business, and terrible course management.
Save your time and money, go somewhere else to play!
Course was in terrible shape, very wet, obviously drain off is not adequate to accomodate Florida's summer storm season. Fairways had inadequate grass coverage and the tee boxes were in terrible shape, barely recognizable from the surrounding grass. It was a good thing they were marked!
It is so built up around the course, wildlife is almost nonexistant. It's too bad they destroyed this course, it was so much nicer back in the day and the reconfiguration of the course is definitely a swing and a miss! There are much nicer courses nearby that my husband and I will be playing at, what a shame. You need to take a clue from the Habitat or Sebastian Municipal.
Summer golf course conditions
Played midweek early afternoon round in Florida where pace of play is perfect. Typical golf course conditions this time of year, slower greens, fairways and tees needed to be mown. All of that didn't matter because course has a great layout and the price was even better than right.
Fastest 18 holes play
I played 18 holes around 2.5 hours with 15 minutes break due to rain and thunderstorm. The course is a little wet at some spots due to recent rain. The green is a bit slow but very true and put table. Look like aerification couple weeks ago. The course is wide open.
Great Deal
The course was much greener than the last few times I played with friends... maybe due to constant rain. For public course it's not bad....
Better than expected
Nice lay out. Greens still growing in but should be very nice soon....
Greens 1 or 2 weeks away from perfect
Greens bumpy due to aeration holes but playable. Should be perfect in a couple of weeks. Rest of the course in great shape.
HUGE Aeration holes
Unplayable greens, holes were size of nickels, I will not play again until greens come back. They did not inform golfnow so there was no alert on site. I quit at 9th.
Recent green aerofication
Greens very bumpy. Tee boxes need some work. Layout gives a good challenge off the tea length is fair. Staff is the best in the area
Challenging course
Excellent course and challenging from championship tees. Would have been nice to know that greens were overseeded before walking up to first green. Overall outstanding experience!
HARD TO REVIEW
hard to review the course because only the back nine was open. And they were also working on the greens of the back nine. but the course was challenging but some of the holes were far apart and would not be agood course for walking
This course has very fast greens which have a lot of break
It is an average course with good bunkers and very fast greens. The greens are fast enough so you actually have to play some break in your putts, unlike most florida courses. It used to be a top notch course before the newest owners bought it, but overall it is still a pretty descent course.
Pretty good course...
I played 18 holes two consecutive days. I think the course is fun, maintained well and is reasonably challenging. I also think it is a good value (but I am from the northeast so I am use to paying $70 for comparable course). I paid 30+ tax for 18 before noon, and I paid $95 for 4 on golf now ($19.99 per player + tax plus golf now fees) for a tee time at 1pm. The play is definitely a little slow and I would expect over 4 hours to complete, probably more like 4.5 hours.
FYI - do not expect to see the beer cart girl often if at all. I was told on those days "yes she will be out there don't worry" and saw her once on day one on the 15th hole and not at all on the second day.
They do not allow coolers, but what I found out at the turn on the second day was they will give you beers and the bar in a bucket with ice. Wish I had known that earlier.
P.S. - have them microwave the hot dogs at the turn
Course was in very good shape.
This was the first time I played this course. It was a long course and a bit challenging, but fun. The course itself was in very good condition. The greens were fast but good.c
great greens
We place once or twice a week, rotating all around the Space Coast. These greens at The Majors were terrific...some of the best around. Putts rolled smoothly and quickly, and broke like they should. That's hard to find around Brevard. And the variety of bunkers, rolling fairways, and hazards made for an interesting challenge.
great design
This is a remarkably well designed golf course. There are opportunities everywhere to think through shots and there are several memorable holes.
Unfortunately, as with many golf courses, the current owners are not committed to maintaining the course on par with the design. There is evidence everywhere of neglect or at least a failure to keep up with issues. The fairways are in very poor shape, though they are hard and fast. The greens are spotty, though they did not roll as badly as they could have.
This could be a definite golfing destination if the management decided to put a good bit of money into it and make the conditions match the design.
Gra]eat coursw
Always a great experience the course was great and the staff are very courteous very convenient to my home.
Thank you.
Been Better
The course is starting to sprout weeds in the middle of fairways. The greens are decent but a little burnt out already this early in the year. Tee boxes are often not level. I still like this course for the challenge but they seem to be headed in the wrong direction.
excellent golf experience
It was a great golf course with very friendly staff. I plan on playing here more and more.
Very Challenging Course
There are some very narrow fairways, and water comes into play on numerous holes. Bring an extra sleeve of balls because you may need them. Greens are quick and difficult to read.
I am sorry to hear about your experience, was your booked tee time a trade time? It sounds like it was, in this case golf now is responsible for issuing a credit, not the golf course, it works this way because the course does not take a payment for the round of golf, golf now takes the payment for these trade times and that is why they are responsible. The Majors will always gladly give rain checks to golf now customers that pay at the course.
