Jimmy Clay Golf Course
About
Jimmy Clay Golf Course opened in 1974 with a 6,931 yard Joe Finger design that incorporates Williamson Creek. This track is flat as well, and is noted for its generous fairways and large, elevated greens. The first and last holes are perhaps the most memorable. No. 1 serves up a blind approach shot over a hill into a skinny green, and the 400-yard doglegged 18th plays into the wind with water on the left side.

Not for outsiders
I’m doing this review for the out of towners looking to play this course and renting clubs. Don’t waste your money! The green fee was decent but we had to rent clubs. They had 2 options with Strata at $30 and Titleist at $70. We went for the cheap Strata but I think $30 is overpriced for a set that were mixed brands that were old, worn out and dirty that looks like they haven’t been cleaned ever. My set had some weird combination of brands and only one wedge ( 58 ) that was left handed. I had to use a U wedge that I didn’t know the loft on all shots around the green. Bunkers had no sand in them and felt like hitting of a concrete. There was no starter in sight so we had to drive around looking for the first tee. We originally booked for 2 but was supposed to be a 4some. Turns out the other 2 were in front of us that took awhile on each holes. This was late in the afternoon so we were trying to get as much holes as we could before sundown. We notice that most of the groups were 2 somes and that quickly made it worst for slow pace. The inside staff were very nice and that about as good as it gets with this place. I’m doing this review hoping it helps people from spending their time and money at this course. $95 dollars to play this course with bad rental clubs is such a waste.
Worth the Drive
Good course kept in decent condition. Would look even better if their ponds weren't bone dry. That said, fairways and greens were well manicured.
Love Jimmy Clay
Don’t listen to any of the reviews from over 3 months ago as they closed for the summer and re did their greens and they are fantastic for the course value.
Great City Course
The course was in excellent shape! We had a 1:20 p.m. tee time and finished by 5:00 p.m., about what you'd expect on a Saturday with fantastic weather (End of September). I definitely would play again.
It was alright...
Grass to long on most of the course. Spent too much time having to search for our tee shots that only went a few feet into the ruff. Marshal was nit-picky and not friendly.
Greens are Unplayable
It is honestly a disgrace that they have left the greens in the condition they have. Even worse the fact that they charge full price and act like nothing is wrong. Do not play here until the greens are completely re-done
