About
Parlaying the successes of the Dallas-area Tour 18, Houston's version of America's greatest holes has become one of Harris County's most popular golf destinations. This one takes advantage of the Southeast Texas pines, with towering trees lining every hole, and the impressive conditions that have made both Tour 18s popular with the public.
Two holes stand out on the front side, and they're not the replicas of Augusta's Amen Corner (5-7 on this track). No. 1 is perhaps the most difficult on the course, intimidating off the tee because it is surrounded by wetlands. You'll need a solid drive to start well on this narrow, 440-yard hole. Bay Hill, La Costa, Inverness, and Pinehurst are also modeled, but the other great hole on the front is No. 9, a version of TPC Sawgrass's island hole.
Texas' own Colonial's third hole makes a showing on No. 12, and you'll get to see what Pebble Beach might feel like on No. 13. And those who've played the Dallas track know that the crew can sometimes get diabolical with their stimp-meter readings and pin placements, which is similar to what happens on No. 15-a replica of Shinnecock Hills' 8th hole. The green on this one slopes so heavily toward the front that a three-jack is almost certain.
Doral rears its head on No. 18, the perfect finishing hole for this track. Play the approach to the right side of the green, away from the water left, just like the pros do when they're protecting that precious lead.
Getting there : From US 59 north, turn right on FM 1960 and drive east for about 2 miles to the course entrance.

Excellent layout but forgiving
Very cool layout with holes you know from watching the PG&A on TV but playable for the less than expert golfer because of the variation in lengths between gold and white. Tour length which is a combo of all 3 (different color for each hole) for mid-handicapper was an interesting solution. You need to be smart about planning shots because there is water and lots of sand but overall is a forgiving course with room on your drives. No unforgiving rough when I played and the course was in good condition for a public course in the winter. People seemed to be conscientious about adding sand to divots in the fairways and greens were in good shape. The day I played it was 90 degree rule on most holes cart path I may on a few. Not terrible. I’m dying to try their individual scooters. Not inexpensive but not outrageous either.

Bad Greens
I like the layout of the course. But:
Greens are dead and most greens are just way too small and impossible to put on.
Have temporary t boxes which are really just mud areas set in fairways.
Need more course maintenance for this level of course.

Fun to play
Course got 5 inches 2 days ago so the bunkers were washed out. It was cart path only but not their fault. Should be back to normal next week when it has dried up. For under $50 it’s a great deal.

I’d do it Again
Course was in overall very good condition with exception of tee boxes. Greens and fairways were excellent.

Green conditions
Just a heads up the putting green was putting way faster than the greens on the course. So plan for a few adjustments. The course was in great condition for being winter-time. Can’t wait to go back!

Interesting concept!
Take 18 immediately recognizable holes from the PGA Tour’s memorable USA courses and let people play them all back to back. Front nine was scenic and had no significant outside distractions. Making the turn, 10 runs directly along some high power line corridor! Not pretty. The rest of the back nine is interwoven between residential and new home construction interfering with course play. It lacked the charm and fun of the front.

No cart girl or water on course
Didn’t see a cart girl the entire 18 holes. Also didn’t see a single place to refill a water bottle or yeti.

Wasn’t bad…
This was my first time back in years. It wasn’t a bad experience but nowhere near as nice as I remember it being. A little disappointing. Looks as though they are starting to put a little money back into the place as there was some signs of recent construction. Again, not bad but several other places I would choose over this course for this price range.
