About

Parlaying the successes of the Dallas-area Tour 18, Houston's version of America's greatest holes has become one of Harris County's most popular golf destinations. This one takes advantage of the Southeast Texas pines, with towering trees lining every hole, and the impressive conditions that have made both Tour 18s popular with the public.

Two holes stand out on the front side, and they're not the replicas of Augusta's Amen Corner (5-7 on this track). No. 1 is perhaps the most difficult on the course, intimidating off the tee because it is surrounded by wetlands. You'll need a solid drive to start well on this narrow, 440-yard hole. Bay Hill, La Costa, Inverness, and Pinehurst are also modeled, but the other great hole on the front is No. 9, a version of TPC Sawgrass's island hole.

Texas' own Colonial's third hole makes a showing on No. 12, and you'll get to see what Pebble Beach might feel like on No. 13. And those who've played the Dallas track know that the crew can sometimes get diabolical with their stimp-meter readings and pin placements, which is similar to what happens on No. 15-a replica of Shinnecock Hills' 8th hole. The green on this one slopes so heavily toward the front that a three-jack is almost certain.

Doral rears its head on No. 18, the perfect finishing hole for this track. Play the approach to the right side of the green, away from the water left, just like the pros do when they're protecting that precious lead.

Getting there : From US 59 north, turn right on FM 1960 and drive east for about 2 miles to the course entrance.

Slow Play

The pace of play was slow!! The back 9 got so slow we didn’t even get to finish the round (>4.5 hrs). There was no one on the course monitoring the pace - foursome in front of us was a hole behind the group in front them on the back 9.

Bad Pro Shop Service & Beware of Theft

I’ve played this course many times and do enjoy it, but on 12/27 pace was extremely slow but wasn’t the worst part of the round. Beware of the sticky fingers, after my round I went in to wash my hands and when I came out my Bushnell Wingman mysteriously demagnetized itself from the cart and the staff whom were also the only ones left at the course were no help in explaining where it could have gone. Sad to say I’ll not be playing there ever again and would advise anyone with nice golf equipment to STAY AWAY!

Great course to talk about!

This course is one of those courses that you'll tell all of your golf friends about. Most people will never get a chance to play Augusta National so playing a replica of the Amen Corner is pretty cool. The pace of play was great, we waited only twice and each time was for less than 3 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful course.

Tour 18 has always been great from tee box to green. Now, it appears the cart path & club house are catching up. It was disappointing that we only got in 15 holes in a little over 4 1/2 hours. That said any visit to Tour 18 is always great.

Pace of play terrible. We had a group of 16 guys book 4 tee times. The day of the round, the course unilaterally added two singles to two of our groups to give us two 5 somes. Slowed the round down and was not appreciated. Course didn’t compensate us for the inconvenience. Dont know if this is common at this course but be wary of playing here.
