About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Flooding
This course floods really bad. Looks nice and green and fun to play if it’s dry but when I played it was flooded in June.
What happened to this course?
This was my 3rd course this week. It was by far the worst. If I knew the conditions of this course, I never would have played it. Some of the greens are in horrible shape. This was a total waste of my time and money.
Course needs major work!
I played Riverside while visiting Austin and the course was in very bad shape. I booked for 18 and left after 9 holes because the course was in such bad shape. The staff was very nice but the course needs major work. The fairways had water puddles, mud and weeds on almost every hole and the greens were in terrible shape.
Highly illegal operations happening at this course
The owners of this course is keeping all tips collected through credit card transactions that are owed to the service employees (i.e. beer golf cart attendant).
This is highly illegal and on top of that they reduced their hourly wages on top of this.
This is illegal and should be reported.
Review
Not the course problems for the review. Course was to wet in certain areas and had to play car path only. That’s always a problem. Addition one player was added to our group and he never show. However; pair in front were only two players and they were terriblely slow. No golf ethics.
Greens rolling good. Overall in nice shape. Great value.
Good Value
The price was right, however the course conditions were below par, sandy greens and bare spots in the fairways
