Two long par 4s (15 & 16) make for a meaty finish. Photo submitted by BrandonTuckerGA on 06/12/2017
Decent course.
Decent. A little rough conditions. Maybe it's the start of the season and the upkeep hasn't really started yet. Have had a lot of water in the area so that may be the reason. Plenty potential.
Worst Course in TX!
If I could have given this course 0 stars I would have. Idk how anyone would give this course a rating higher than 1 star. I usually don’t leave reviews either but this course is in terrible shape. It hadn’t rained in over a week and you would of thought it rained for days. Standing water everywhere and the fairways and greens were MUDDY! It’s also the kind of mud that sticks to everything. Every single hole you will walk back to the cart with shoes covered in mud. The conditions were just awful. The fact that they charge anything for this course is a joke. This course should be closed.
Don’t play this course. I wouldn’t even pay $1 to play this course ever again!
Water stations
This course is pretty average accept that there are more drinking water stations than any course I’ve played.
Great staff, poor pace of play
I saw a bunch of reviews about how bad the pace of place is. I thought to myself, “how true could this all actually be—what are the odds it’ll be that slow when I play??” Well, apparently the reviews were there for a reason. Pace was just too slow to really develop any rhythm which was super disappointing. Otherwise, good staff and (the guy who I think is) the manager is an outstanding guy and genuinely cares about the course and his customers.
Great value and experience!
Riverside provides some of the best bang for your buck in the Austin area. Great location and course conditions.
Golf Outing
Very slow pace, probably because of the other 2 people we played with. Club house was closed by 5:30 but person inside office wouldn’t let us in to use bathroom
We saw deer on course. Very cool.
Beverage cart and showed up on hole 15. We were very thirsty by then.
Muddy match play
Played 18, I need to clean my shoes and clubs after the muddy conditions. Drainage seems to be a problem but a nice course for novice or hobby players
Great for beginners
I have to start by posting positives before I let loose. 1) The staff there are extremely friendly. 2) This is a perfect course if you are a beginner and need to play on a course where you other players would give you grief for any poor play (like snobby private courses). The openness of the course is very forgiving and you don't have to be Tiger Woods to play here. I highly recommend playing here if you are just learning, first time on a full 18 course.
For those of us that have been playing for a while and want a decent nice course to play when visiting Austin, or even if you live there full time. PLEASE AVOID THIS COURSE. It is not a nice course in any way, the greens are all beat up, I just gave up expecting putts to roll anywhere near true. The rough was mostly dirt places. The fairway ok.
I was very sad when I drove up to this course and you could see how bad it was. I wanted to play a nice course, The reviews here had it as a 4 stars and I have never seen such a bad course have such high reviews. I was fooled/lied to into expecting it to be a nice course, and it is far from it.
Enjoy playing at Riverside when we are in Austin and could not have been paired with two nicer men. Great day of golf.
