About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Fun Course!
This is a great course of you are looking to play a quick round and for the Austin area that’s a big plus! Riverside is short overall making it a good one to score well on. Though it’s short the par 3s are a bit longer and challenging. Overall in pretty good shape with a simple layout making it fun for experienced golfers and excellent for those learning the game!
Below average
Was shocked to see this course get 5 stars.. tee boxes were either rock hard or 100% sand. Greens were a mess on more than a couple holes. I gave it 2 stars, had it at 3 and was going to say average but thought about a couple instances where I said “this is bad”. Below avg. muni course.

5 stars all around. Best course in Austin for the price. Can’t get enough! Go go go! You’ll love it! They have a driving net and chipping / putting green! Love this place me and my brothers play here all the time!

The greens were in good shape and the staff is committed to bringing the course back to what it used to be.
It’s a little tough to find the clubhouse, but the staff is very helpful and accommodating.
Tee boxes are a little rough, but they are working on that.

Green everywhere
Got a walking tee that got me playing alone. That was great, no COVID. I was met at the stairs and paid outside, good idea. Course was green and lush. Looks like they've cut some of the trees on number 7. Greens were pretty good. Layout still pretty good. Will keep them in mind now that the 183 toll Rd is almost done.

Fun and affordable
Riverside is a fun and accessible course with friendly staff, including beverage cart on weekdays. The greens are usually in good shape and the price is always right.
Their practice green is in tremendous shape and although there is no driving range, they do have a huge practice net that is just fine for warmup.
Did I mention the price? They have some great deals during the week.

Get on quick for a great price
Being centrally located in Austin is great. You can get on the course pretty quick and for the price, it can’t be beat. Typically the course is just fine for the average golfer. The only real negative I’ve got are the unlevel tee boxes. Otherwise, swing em long and enjoy a nice Austin muni without any worries.

New management has done this course well!
This course used to be unplayable with fairway grass that you could lose a ball in. Whatever they have done in the last 8 months, congrats to them. Pace of play was fine and the greens were nice and maintained. Definitely worth the price! Will play here a lot more.

Fairways and green need work
Good value but some holes are much more maintained than others. Staff is super friendly which is always a plus
