About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Good round in heat
Even though it was extremely hot and humid the pace of play had us out in little over 3.5 hours. Course in good shape. Staff always friendly.

Early Friday am
The course was in good condition but having to buy water that is usually provided on the course seemed a little unnecessary, other than that it was a great way to pass a beautiful Friday morning, before the excessive heat set in.

Enjoyable Round
A relatively short course but well maintained. Greens were smooth and quick, sand traps well maintained and the fairways were equally good. Pace of play was a little off but not too slow. A fun course.

Good Round
The course is in good shape for this time of year.
We got off at 7:30 am and were done by 11:45 am.
Slower than it should be but not too bad.

Course in Good Condition
Overall, course was in good condition. The greens had some poor spots but overall were in very good condition. Pace of play was average. Will definitely play again.

Great course for the value
Course was in great condition, greens rolled true. There is still has water puddles/runoff on cart paths.

Great Value
Fun track to practice on. Greens are great and the course is a good value. Tee boxes are rough and the course can get a bit shaggy but you can’t complain for the price and location.

Best value course for weekday mornings in Austin
Love Riverside. Short layout on the front with lots of birdie chances through the course. I’ve played twice in the last week and each round was less than 3h 30m. Greens are in good shape, number 4 could use a little work. Most of the amenities and pro shop are closed due to Covid 19 right now, but they’re very helpful and accommodating.
The one thing I’ll dock a star for on conditions is that this course doesn’t drain very well.
Overall this is a great course and I look forward to many tee times here in the future!

Decent course quality, plays very quickly
The greens were hit or miss with the upkeep level. Some of the tee boxes were not setup for our 7am tee time. Otherwise the course is pretty decent for the price and was an enjoyable experience. It also plays very quickly, I finished my round in 3 hours which is about an hour faster than typical.

Rivetside is getting better.
In the past, Riverside was in bad shape. Now it's not. Cudos to the new management team. Greens are good tee boxes not bad, same with fairways.

Not great but a good course
This was my 8th time playing here and the second time in the last two months. They fairways are fair, but I think the greens make up for it. They greens are fast and the pace of play was good. I do recommend this course.
