Riverside Golf Course

About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Two long par 4s (15 & 16) make for a meaty finish. Photo submitted by BrandonTuckerGA on 06/12/2017
Great value and layout
Always a nice round at Riverside. The first 4 out of 6 greens aren’t great, but are perfect afterwards
Summer golf @ Riverside
some of the tee boxes & green were had bare spots. Adequate water for 100+ weather. Friendly staff and nice golf course layout. Will play again in the fall when cooler.
Pace of play
We were a beginner group of 4 and we let a pair and a single go ahead of us on tee 1 and by the time we got to tee 3 we already had a pair on us and on them they had someone one them as well like I said we were beginners not taking to much time but our pace is slower then a pair of two so was annoying having people literally waiting on us at every hole. They need bigger windows in the bookings
Good ol riverside
Riverside is one of the best public’s in Austin right now for the value. Some patchy greens ona few but it’s not bad. Great layout and fun short par 4 on the back nine. Plus the staff are really great and are very friendly. $32 at 4:30? What a deal
Pretty good round of gollf
I’ve been playing riverside for years. It was in good shape. The greens were great.
Great value
If you’re looking for a $75+ course than this isn’t it. For what you pay it’s solid but I enjoyed it. Very open layout and a fun play. Tees could use some work on some and the greens were hit or miss but greens were great, but those didn’t really bother me. I overall had a fantastic time in this course.
Good ol riverside
Greens are great RN . Couple patchy ones but def in great shape
We understand that your experience did not meet your expectations. We did notice you played on a Saturday which is one of the busier days as it is a weekend. We have 10 minute spaced start times to help with the pace of play to begin with. Most course offer 8 minute spaced times. We strive to make everyone's round enjoyable and like most courses we expect a 4 hour 15 minute pace of play. Most people would rather not spend 6 hours in the 100 degree Texas sun. Please come visit us again, perhaps during the week when there are less players on the course. We appreciate your review and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the future.
