Lakeland Golf Club

About
Lakeland Golf Club originally opened in 1964 and in 2002 it was expanded to an 18-hole championship course. Barry Serafin reworked the traditional design of the original layout into a challenging course that is still playable for a range of skill levels. The five diverse sets of tees make it even more accommodating. Seasoned players will find the championship tees to be a formidable test but the gold tees are tame enough for beginners. Its versatility makes the golf course an excellent venue for tournaments and outings. The course can be tight in some spots, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. Lakeland Golf Club's fairways are generous and seemingly tame but they are bordered by strategically positioned bunkers. There are also meandering streams and a few lakes that come into play on a few holes.

Great round
Super hot weather but the course does not control that! Course was in good condition. Greens were a little slow but rolled nicely. Tee boxes were a little rough but expected due to all the rain. Some of the holes on the greens desperately needed to be redone…grass growing down into the hole?! Great value for the discounted rate we got!
I love this course!
This course is not the most difficult I play nor is it easy by any means. It has always been a great course to play. It is always well taken care of and the staff is excellent! I drive over an hour to play here and play this course more than the courses closer to home. If you have not golfed here, you should make the trip!
Great Layout/Slow Play
First time playing this course and I loved the layout. Was in really good condition considering the rainfall as of late. I would've liked the greens to have been faster and a ranger to speed up play as there was a 6-Some 3 groups and 3 groups of 2 ahead of us. Will definitely be back on a weekday with the hopes that no good balls will be clogging it up.
Love this course
I love this course. Except for the 9th hole lol. Seriously though, I do love the course. It’s well kept most of the time. Greens aren’t too difficult on most holes and it’s still challenging enough to know it wasn’t too easy. Only negative is the driving range is not within golf cart distance. You have to take your vehicle. I’ve played here twice and have scored my 2 best ever scores in those 2 visits. Love it!
Its Killer in the Wind
Lots of open terrain, and you seem to be into the prevailing wind for over half the course. Greens are not too quick, but alot of that has to do with green slope. don't ever be above the hole. 9th hole is a short par 5, but you better have accurate long irons to go for it in 2. There is a watery grave in front, and not much behind the green. Played on a Thursday...may not have been the best choice as there was a men's senior league finishing up when we started. One weird item is that the ratings and slope and tee descriptions on the scorecard did not match anything in GHIN.
Late fall round
Had a great time with my son playing 18! The course was in great condition considering how late it was in the season. Greens were average speed. We didn’t see anyone on the course until the 18th hole! Felt like we had our own course! We’ll be back!
What a gem!
Played here for the first time today and the course was beautiful!! The greens are immaculate! The layout is good and the course was fun and not overly difficult. You won’t win any speed races in the golf cart (maybe it was just the one we had) and the forward tees aren’t marked. Sometimes the green tee was the most forward tee, other times there was another non marked tee box ahead of it. The score card says there is a gold tee in front of the green tees. That was frustrating as I was playing off of various tees. But the pace of play was great, it wasn’t busy and it was in great shape. We will go back.
One of the best course layouts around my area
Lakeland has one of the best layouts of any golf course around my area an with tee times for 18 holes with cart costing around 30$ without golf now discount and being 21$ with discount it's a great course for the value and scenery
