The Habitat Golf Course

I'm sorry to have to say this about one of my favorite courses. I recommend it to friends often. But today was not good.

Our tee time was 2:00 and we progressed fairly well on the front nine slow but moving. We were told the Marshall was already gone for the day. When we stopped for a refreshment after nine the place was all but locked up with barely anyone around.

As we were playing the 10th hole out from behind us came the group TELLING us that they were playing through as we were to slow. We informed them that it was slow in front of us but they went ahead anyway. Before we had even finished the hole they had turned around realizing we were telling the truth but with no apology. By the time we had arrived at the 14th hole ,there was now 3 groups on the hole. At this point it was 5 pm. We didn't see any sign of being able to finish so we quit.

I do feel had there been a Marshall on the course on an obviously busy Friday afternoon this problem might have been avoided. A beautiful day for golf was turned sour.

One person in the group has played here so it really helped to know where to aim, and when to lay up. The sand was packed a little bit and not very deep, so had to be careful not to hit too thin coming out of the bunkers. Nice nature area to play in. Good time, I will go again. Worth the extra drive time to get there for me.

I enjoy the challenging layout of the course. The holes are difficult for golfers at my level (85-90 player.) without being too hard or what I call miniature golfish. Being in the middle of the woods is very relaxing. Late in the day on can see just about any type of wild life crossing the fairway.

This was our first time playing this track. The staff are great but they were letting people start not even close to their tee time. The line for hole #1 was long and the pace of play was atrocious. Our group decided to replay the front nine instead of taking (another three hours) for the back nine. I would definitely go back but there should be a starter to space out play.

The course was challenging, but not so much that it ruined the day for an average golfer like myself.

We teamed up with a couple of great golfers. Course is HILLY, LOL hard for first time player to estimate distances. Overall had a great time and very nice staff.

Great layout, this course is in good condition.

Pleasantly challenging, this is a very nice way to spend a nice afternoon. The greens are not too fast but in great shape, so is the rest of the course.

Was in great shape when I played it , its short but its all about keeping it straight and playing for the next shot. Usually see lots of wildlife , snakes , gators and more . Last 2 times I have been there the restaurant has been closed ,that's disappointing, because they tell you to not bring your own drinks ,but there is no place to buy one within 10 miles .

Although Habitat has a great layout and is in good shape and I will play it again ,I'd have to say they have the worst bunkers I've played in Fl. At one point I had a hard time to scratch through the surface with a rake, which can ruin a good round.

I like the habitat remote type surroundings, the

wildlife, birds . The greens are in good condition and layouts are good. Staff is friendly and close to home

Greens were nice and quick. Some grass outside of greens and fairways were bare. No ranger on the course. Patrons were great as they waved me by as a single.

This course is a LOT of fun to play. The staff and the service is awesom! (Nice to meet you, Eau Claire!) The course wasn't very green but it's February so, what should I expect. The greens, on the other hand, were green, consistent and challenging. Loved the course - would definitely play again - and enjoyed the wildlie, too; one gator, one osprey, and one armadillo to go with all the usual birds. A very nice golfing experience.
