Fun and beautiful course. Nice greens. Awesome to play a course while not looking at houses and back yards. There are planes flying around. Smaller planes...maybe remote control planes?
Great course
Snack bar needs help played here twice lately both times stopped at the turn for a hot dog nine available wasn't offered anything but 3 dollars bag of chips
quiet and serene
hidden away great layout can't see more than the hole you are playing
Nice and interesting layout. Greens were excellent.
Certainly not a championship course but as good as I have seen in this neck of the woods. For the price, it was fabulous. Good assortment of holes, always good sightlines off the tee and trickyy pin placements made it a fun challenge. I would recommend this course to anybody of any level, unless of course they were snobs. Good sized alligators and wonderful herons added to the treat.
Last Min decision
Found the deal on golf now at the last min and was very pleased with course and staff will play there agian
Bare bones experience but a nice layout
according to the people we played with, the course is under new management and they seem to be on a budget. The layout is nice if a little short at about 6,000 yds from the blue tees. We played on a Saturday but there was no starter or anyone at the bag drop. We couldn't hit balls because they were about to collect them and the tractor doesn't have a cage. The course hasn't seen water iiiin a long time but the greens were in good shape. for the price it was a good deal but not a high level experience. It was right net door to a local airport so it was noisy and planes were taking off overhead.
Rediscovering The Habitat
Two of us played yesterday afternoon in stellar weather conditions: moderate temperature, no humidity, and no wind. The fairways and greens were a bit dry because of drought conditions in Florida; however, the course has been well-maintained. From the blue tees, many holes required precise shots, occasional long carries over water, or shots over environmentally protected areas. Bunkers were well groomed; tee boxes were clearly marked. The front 9 offers great diversity with challenging par 5s, scenic par 3s, and testing par 4s. The back 9 is not quite as unique as the front layout: lengthy par 4s and par 5s that run on a parallel layout that is a bit redundant; the exceptions are #10 and #18 which are quite a test. The course had quite a few patrons for a mid-afternoon round, but it was a fair test from the blue tees. A cautionary bit of advice: several holes with long, forced carries might be a daunting task for seniors even from the senior tees. Good luck!
Would recommend you play this course
There were two of us and we were made up into a fourball with two local guys who were very nice to play with. We appreciated their local knowledge as this course is better for knowing ..
Some very interesting holes with quite long carries over vegetation and water.
Greens putted well
The local three legged alligator popped over to say hello.
Overall a really enjoyable round of golf.
Good everyday course
I played the white tees because of who I was paired up with, but next time I would play blue or gold tees to make it a bit more challenging.
Habitat Nice Course
It was difficult but great.
Habitat
Not quite as good as a couple of years ago. Greens are a little slower than before. Overall not a bad place to play
Getting better
I had played course three weeks previously and the condition of the fairways left a lot to be desired.
This time the fairways and rough were mowed properly as were the greens. The two of us had a group behind us but we pretty much felt like we had the place to ourselves. The weather was beautiful as well. It was a good time to enjoy a mid week game.
Definite recommend.
A great deal for the money.
I really enjoy playing this course. It can't be beat for the price. Overall the course is in good condition. Several of the greens could use some work. Staff is very friendly.
Serene Surroundings
I live in the area of this golf course, so I am somewhat biased. This course has the perfect layout being that it is surrounded by environmentally protected lands. The closest building (not counting the clubhouse) is a few hundred yards, but is separated by high growth vegetation. Playing this course you can hear the sound of nature clearly. This course will be challenging to those who are not straight hitters. All in all I believe the golfer no matter what level, will thoroughly enjoy this natures "Habitat" golf course.
Nothing Flashy
Had some time on my way from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale area and decided to play last minute. Booked easily, it was an early afternoon mid week tee time so no issues with getting on and played alone with only a few people on the course. Played very quickly.
The one time I ran into a twosome ahead of me they immediately let me play through which was appreciated.
Course staff were very friendly and helpful. Course was in ok shape, after what was clearly a long hard summer but everything was playable. Tee blocks were probably the worst part of the course, long and a bit overrun with other grasses/weeds but playable. Fairways were a little better and greens were a bit rough in patches but they're trying and they rolled pretty well.
Overall, I felt like I got good value for the money spent. I'd like to play it again later in the fall or early winter. Unfortunately it's not really near where I go when I go to Florida, just happened to be passing through. I would play it again though if the opportunity presented itself.
Habitat Golf
My wife and I enjoyed a round of golf at the Habitat. Course was in very good condition. Nice to see that they are trying to make some improvements and it shows
