A Hidden Gem
The course was in perfect condition, played after a heavy rain and it drained well. greens are a challenge as well as the layout , if you go you'll enjoy yourself
Great value in secluded, natural setting
The Habitat is a nice little gem. The layout is very fair although there is mostly fairway and then deep woods with not much rough as an intermediary landing spot. The fairways are in good shape but not cut very short so even good drives get little roll. The greens are mostly in good condition with only a couple having a few bald spots. Bunkers are good. Be aware that there are no course marshals so that slow play has no way of being monitored and corrected. The staff is generally very friendly except for one staffer in the pro shop who at times makes individuals who use Golf Now discounted Hot Deals feel like a second class citizen. Overall we have played numerous times and it is a fun little course to play with very limited amenities.
The greens were in great shape.
I got there a little early from my assigned Tee Time and was told that I could go ahead if I didn't want to play the group I was going to be assigned with. I played by myself and flew around the course in under 3 hours, only 2 groups ahead and both of them had me play through. Best shape I'd seen the course in a while.
Course is in good shape
Course was well maintained, had some difficult holes, it is a long course. My only complaint was, that it did not have enough bathrooms built, only one and that was on the back nine.
Clubhouse was closed due to fumigating, but other then those few things, the course is really nice.
This course is great for the money. Love it,,
Staff at the restaurant needs social skills training. The man at the counter (bar) was very rude. Pro shop and cart staging area staff were very helpful and friendly. Probably want to replace that guy at he bar.
good shape fun course
course was fun. Slow threesome in front of us slowed the pace. The only downside was No outside beverages allowed, but no beverage cart or refreshment facilities on course in 90 plus degrees with 95% humidity, not real smart.
The best course in the area for the money
I played 18 holes for a great rate of $20 on a course that offered beauty and challenge with a super-friendly staff...what else could you ask for? The rate beat other, less than desirable courses in the area.
Fun course with reasonable the
Price is tough to beat for a reasonably challenging course.
very fair course
Great course, good day,got out early finished on time, very nice. Bye the way could you lower the temp a little maybe 83 with a little breeze would be nice. Thanks
Interesting layout in natural setting
Played course on 4th of July weekend. Fairways were in good shape and greens were not bad except for a few areas under repair. Quiet location with good pace of play and no homes on course. Natural setting with plenty of birds, alligators and snakes (black, rattlesnakes, etc.). Fairly interesting layout with plenty of water. Very generous fairways with little rough. Most of the penalty off the fairways is thick, natural bushes, palmetto's and other of natural brush containing much wildlife. Would not recommend searching very much for a lost ball here.
Gorgeous
This hidden gem is a short drive from downtown Melbourne. I found a Hot Deal on GolfNow, and was glad I did. We played on the 4th of July and practically had the place to ourselves. The course is well laid out. Something that I had never seen before were the drive through sand traps. Bunkers on both sides of the cart path. Overall, a beautiful day on the golf course. Sorry we did not take any pictures. Maybe next time. I will be back.
This course offers a great challenge for the avid golfer
Magnificent layout and fun to play. The staff was cordial and helpful. The pace of play was slow though. Overall a good experience.
The Habitat features various topographies which enhance the quality of the course.
The Habitat golf course is very well maintained and provides the golfer with very good greens and fairways. This is not a flat course but features hills, valleys, moguls, fairway and green bunkers, water hazards.
The course also features a restaurant with quit meals and snacks and refreshments of all sorts.
Habitat is great for the buck
great location. Houses on one hole only Greens slower than normal
Has Challenging holes
This course is totally secluded from any homes or townhouses with nothing but trees and water surrounding the holes. A few of the holes have large water bodies that you have to hit over and one with a large marsh area to hit over. There are also some very easy holes to balance your scorecards. This was our first time playing there and would return. Note: We didn't see too many animals which was unusual but lots of flying insects--bring mosquito spray.
AERATING THE GREENS/NOT TOLD BY GOLF NOW
AERATING THE GREENS/NOT TOLD BY GOLF NOW. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION.
Accuracy is the key to this course. Greens and fairways in good condition.
Mostly narrow driving areas require an accurate day off of the tees. On the green you will find a pretty quick passe and a nice roll even though they may look slow.
Some holes require a lay up with the driver staying in the bag. Hole 18 is a nice par 5 finish with 2 shots over water.
Plenty of wildlife so be careful, gators will greet you at a few holes.
The 19th is a limited venue but it is cool inside and you may find a few nice folks to share your tales of the day with.
The Habitat is just fair
Thin fairways, greens were rough and the bunkers were not well maintained.
General maintenance is needed
Course layout is fantastic. The fairways, greens and rough need attention.
nice course but getting awful
Took over 5 hours to play, tee boxes awful, greens not as nice as before.Allowed players wearing Italian tees,3 players only two sets of clubs profanity heard throughout the course. They need to get the class back that this course had.Rangers needed to keep the course in as good a play as it was.
