Farways
This golf courses fairways need a complete overhaul it felt like I was riding between the rails of a dilapidated railroad track and absolutely wore me out. Seriously you need to put in a few dollars into this course it would be a great place to play I'm not sure that I would ever come back. The only high point of the whole golf outing today was the company I had and the staff that run the show in the clubhouse.
Great for beginners
Was happy the course was easy to follow, good nice toilets & ice cold water to refresh you
Nice Course, Slow Greens
I really enjoyed the course. My brother and I drove a couple hours to check out this course. It was an enjoyable round and the course was in good shape. The greens were considerably slow compared to my home greens in Kentucky. I would think we would return again though.
Great golf
The staff was most friendly and came out and points out each hole to us before we played. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Fun time and plan to go again soon. Best course for the money. Thank you!!
Greens
Greens were perfect. Plush and soft.
Great value
Played here many times and great value for your money. Some tight driving holes . Pace of play can be pretty slow on weekends
first but not the last
I found this course in fairly good condition. And like most of the courses in the area greens are starting to shape up but still need some time they are very slow. Staff was very pleasant, pro-shop adequate, no restaurant only cold sandwiches (not much to choose from)and hot dogs. But I will be back.
Good Value, Average Course
First time to play this Milton course. Was expecting a soggy venue after all the rain, but it was actually dry and even dusty in some parts of the course. The odd.. Putting the driving range on the par five dog leg is dumb. The good... Staff was nice and facilities were in good shape. The bad... Fairways were more weeds than grass. The ugly... Pace of play was disappointing. Lots of potential for this course, but as is I'd consider the lessor of the Pensacola venues.
Don't Expect Much
My friend and I did not have an enjoyable experience at this course. When we walked into the pro shop to check in, the staff member walked away from the desk. We were left there unattended for a while before she came back to check us in. Stepping out onto the driving range, we were disappointed with how small and unkept it was. The range literally sits between two fairways of the course without barriers to separate. One of those particular fairways has a dogleg which results in a Bermuda Triangle of 200-yd balls from the range and the 215 yard balls hit from its tee box. At large, the fairways on this course are disappointing and frustrating. The grass resembles that which one might find in the average Floridian's back yard. For many of the holes, the fairway direction was difficult to understand due to the lack of natural or man-made barriers. The greens at this course are also disappointing and frustrating. I consider "well-kept" greens to be ones where there is one type of grass that stretches the entire green, creating predictable "with-the-grain" or "against-the grain" conditions. Not so at Tanglewood: most of the greens have multiple types of grass which intermingle to create a ball roll that is difficult to predict.
challenging
This course is challenging for a beginner but it will let you have a good shot from time to time to keep you interested in playing golf.
Slow...slow
Hate to review a course in off season, because it is not at its best. I still would not play again.
This course is in great condition.
This was our first time playing Tangelwood. Looking forward to other rounds here. The staff were very helpful.
Good course for husband and wife to play
Pace of play was a little slow for my wife and I, due to playing behind a fivesome. They never offered to let us play through. But it was a beautiful afternoon and we just assumed they were regulars or members, so big deal. ( we play way too fast anyway)
Fun course, poor 'Manager'
Played this course pretty often, took my 11 year old with me as a ride along, as I have several times in the past, never a problem, until yesterday. As stated on golfnow app cart was included in the greens fee. The jerk behind the counter decided that we would have to pay additional for the rider. Not the end of the world, but when I explained to him we've done this several times in the past and never been charged to have her ride along and learn the game, he decided to give me a really nasty attitude. I also pointed out to him that the last time we were there we were given 4 separate carts...' Well I've been here blah blah blah...' So basically you are calling me a liar?! What a poor customer experience. Sad to because it was my ' go to' family friendly course. Not so much anymore. This guy pretty much ruined that for me, and on my 40th birthday too. Nothing to do with the extra $8, just the jerk behind the counter and the way it was poorly handled. Maybe when they get better staff I'll go back, but until then I would take my money elsewhere. The upper management should consider putting this guy through a customer relations course if he is going to call himself the ' manager'. A good manager sure doesn't call paying customers liars.
Great play for the money.
Fun course to play. Fairways are in good shape. Greens were slow today because of all the area rain we have had. We enjoyed the outing.
Nice Fairways
i gave the course 3 stars because the greens were so slow. I don't think they had been mowed for several days. A few had some bad spots covered with sand, but overall the grass looked great. I couldn't figure out why they weren't mowed unless their equipment was down. Layout was fun with several doglegs and a couple long par 3 from the tips. Before I play again, I'll ask if they have mowed. I'm playing somewhere else today and will probably have several 3-jacks because I'll rum it 8 ft by the hole.
Fun course
Narrow fairways made it challenging and the course was in excellent condition!
