Solid choice
Probably one of the best and most affordable courses in the area, great layout with some sight fairways and tee shots, back 9 gets a bit harder, several doglegs, there are two greens in repair with temporary greens groomed in front of them
Great price and course
First off the employees here are extremely polite and make you feel like part of the family!! This is the second time I have played this course, first time with my son and his friend and when were warming up on the putting green the manager noticed that we only had two sets of clubs and gave us a another set so my son's friend had a set to play with. These guys are very polite and friendly!! I just played this course today with my wife and we had a lot of fun. You get a LOT more than you pay for!! I have played some more expensive courses in the Destin area and let me tell you that this course is better maintained then any of the others I have played!! Most greens are awesome and the other ones are great!! It's a nice open course which makes pace of play faster. I love this course and will be playing here for many years to come!!
Great course and a great value
This course is a fun public course and it is well-maintained. The greens are a little slow but the putts run true and they're very well-kept. I live in Garcon point so I will play this course often. This is a great value for the money and a very fun course.
Good Value, challenging layout.
Older style course with small greens and some tight driving holes with plenty of OB stakes. Winter conditions with dormant fairways but greens were pretty good overall. You will use all the clubs in the bag here with plenty of doglegs and hazards. I like this track and will be back again. Played the back tees which are about 63-6400 yds. Fun course and good value for the price.
Play here for a fun day of golf!
Tanglewood is hidden gem of a course. It is certainly worth the drive from Pensacola or even Mobile. The fairways are in excellent condition and greens roll true and fair. The carts are in excellent condition and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
tight course
Tight course requires precise shots on at least half of the holes.
Tanglewood
Tanglewood Golf Course is a very neat little course with challenging holes and narrow fairways. I would advise that one should have at least (4) hours to spare, as there aren't any Rangers and the mere fact that on Sunday there is at least 2 to 3 carts and walkers on each hole makes it difficult to totally enjoy one’s round but it is a quiet well-kept course and the people in the clubhouse are very helpful and friendly.
Fun Course
Fun Course, forced to hit some three woods but was still only 9-8 iron out. Short course even played the blues.
Old Course with Bemuda
I have played here before. Similar to most southern Bermuda courses built back in the day. Smaller greens but usually shorter shots into greens. It has been maintained fairly well in play areas so I like going back in time. 1st hole is temporary green but after it all is good. It can be backed up with usual crowds for the area playing. Local members have been good at letting faster player's go through. Worth a round if you don't expect resort golf!
Tanglewood
An enjoyable course that will require all the shots in your bag. Temporary green on #1. Looks like the regular green will need months of effort to be playable. The course is very, but requires precise placement of your drives and you'll want to hit a fairway wood or long iron off some of the tees to keep it in play. This is the type of course I grew up playing in the 1950s and 60s. It's nice to play a course laid out on the natural ground and not one where 1,000,000 cubic yards of soil were moved to shape it. Donald Ross would like this facility.
Nice course.
Very tight on some of the holes. Makes driving the ball challenging.
Doing work on a few greens
This course is not very challenging but had a great round. Excellent deal would recommend this course.
course had a nice lay out.
Everything was great, but, like every other golf course in a 75 mile radius they all have issues with the greens.
Excellent Greens and Fairways
Greens rolled good and the fairways were in great condition.
Greens look really good
The greens look better than the fifty dollar courses in the area. A few narrow fairways with trees on both sides, but overall, not all that difficult. Good layout, with a par five to start. My favorite round so far this year.
Great Dawgs played here
I had played this course many years ago. We played 18 holes on two days. Very good course that is well maintained. Greens small and a little slower than I am used to. The staff was very friendly. It was the home course of Bubba Watson when he was growing up. . He must have driven some of the short par fours. Go Dawgs!!!!
Good staff and course
Overall the course was in very good condition considering the weather extremes and excessive rain we've been having in this area for several months now. Tee boxes and fairways mostly excellent, greens mostly good but some dried out and sandy. Course would be better if it had a better score card, one that would more clearly show the layout of the holes and especially show the hazards, especially water hazards. This was my first time playing this course in several years and I occasionally drove into water that I didn't even know was there.
Not pleased.
The course was in terrible condition. Most greens were dead and the fairways were extremely patchy with very little green grass anywhere on the course. Hooligans being loud wearing bluejeans and football jerseys with matching behavior. Every green had cups that were cut crooked which, combined with the terrible condition of the greens, made putting impossible even from 3 feet. Ugly course and a terrible experience. I will not be playing this course ever again.
