Over done changes
I played this course last year and knew it was an average difficulty course but I liked the layout. You knew where to aim and where the trouble was. Greens were furry and slow, especially into the grain. Too many of the tee boxes were set way up (Example: 190 yard par 3 setup at 150 yards). For some reason, 4 or 5 of the greens from the year before were removed and new ones were added 50 to 80 yards in front of the old ones but the USGA is unaware of these changes so your yardage apps are off by this distance. This impacted my play the first time I encountered one of these holes as I hit it well over the green. From then on, I did a more visual evaluation to double check the distance. There’s no way the course rating or slope is accurate now so IMHO you shouldn’t post scores on these rounds.
Needs a lot of attention.
Course has a great layout but needs lots of investment and attention. Could be a beautiful course. Biggest complaint is that they overload it with players. Had to quit after a three hour 9 holes.
Should be better
Ok course, not good condition tho. No sand in our carts to fill divots, fairways pretty beat up same with the greens. Probably won’t be playing here again
A hidden gem for the $$$
Nice course, friendly staff, good value and manageable regardless of your abilities---- my husband had 2 birdies 😀
poor playing conditions, but it looks like they are working to make them better
Last year I played here and let them know in a review that the place is full of fire ant mounds. Well, it still is. A considerable part of the fairways are thin or just dirt, especially closer shots to the green. Greens are very slow and missing grass in many areas, not good greens to putt on. It will be a long time until I try them again. Maybe in 6 months the sod and seed they put down will have taken and the course will be much better? We will see.
Probably a nice country club when it opened; I'm guessing in the 60's or 70's. The course is in marginal condition, fairways thin, greens slow and bumpy. The one bunker I was in was good. Pace of play was slow. We quit after 14 holes. As we drove back to clubhouse the group 2 ahead of us had a par 4 and par 5 completely open. No marshalls. No running water on the course other than the men's room toilet so no way to hydrate. Cashier was friendly, starter and cart person need a course in customer appreciation.
First Time
Sunday was my first time playing at Palm Aire Country Club - Oaks and the course was very nice. Price was very reasonable and the pace was great!
