Great hidden gem
Great course. Greens immaculate. Tees & fairways great. Traps hard panned, but heavy pain night before caused this. Would play again next time in Gulf Shores
Best value in S Baldwin Co.
Always enjoy my golf at Glen lakes the course is usually in pretty good shape and greens are fairly decent to putt on with a few bad spots, but overall a great golf course for the money.
Too slow
It took us 5 hours and 10 minutes to play 18 holes. There were 5 groups on hole #2 when we arrived. Need to do a better job of spacing out the players as we only played 13 holes in 4 hours, which is what it should take to play 18 holes.
Hidden GEM!
Fantastic course, very well maintained. Greens were excellent for time of year, tees and fairways lush. Traps were packed hard, but very heavy rains the day before caused that issue. Layout is terrific, hard enough to be challenging, but not too much to interfere with a great round.. I would recommend heavily, my favorite course in Gulf Shores!
Watch for fire ant hills
Watch out for fire ants!! There was a huge hill along the first tee box /cart path on the Vista course.
Glen Lakes Review
For the money this is one of the best courses to play in the area.
Fun course
Very windy day but fun layout. Lots of sand and water in the right places.
Course conditions
Good value. Cart paths are terrible. Rest of course in decent condition. Course is very busy, so I would hope they would spend some of that extra revenue on some upgrades
Overplayed
Too many rounds go through this course. Play is slow, wait every shot and 5 minutes for the green to clear 18 times. Greens are fast but rough in spots.
With all the traffic the ground is firm.
Lots of wet spots even with no significant rain in several days.
Grouchy old starters
Course was in good shape. Starter told me on the first tee box that I need to hurry up and hit because there was 150 more people coming that day while knowing there was a 5 some in front of us and we were bound to catch them on the 2nd hole. We didn’t see a single player behind us the entire round and we did catch the 5 some on the second hole. So basically the starter was telling us to hurry up and wait. I understand that you’re 75 years old but that doesn’t mean you get to treat the 25 year old without any respect. Not the best choice of words Glenlakes. Makes me feel like those 150 customers somehow have higher importance. It sucks too because I was asking about member information when I was there and there’s a good deal but I won’t be signing any contract with them knowing they treat customers with that level of respect. I’ll keep my membership at Lost Key down the road, that course is in better shape anyway.
