TPC Tampa Bay

First time at TPC Tampa. Awesome track. Staff was excellent, made me feel like a member. Conditions were very good for July in Florida. Greens a bit slow but rolled fine. Great practice area. Will definitely be back!

First time out, loved the coarse , staff was great!

Played 18 holes in about 4 hours. I was playing alone. There was a group in front of me that was backed up a little, but nothing outrageous.

On 17, I go to hit my second shot & im taking my time because the guys in front of me are still walking to their cart. I hear a “hey!” From the group behind me...like I’m the one holding them up.

I finish the hole & drive up to the 18th hole. Next thing I know the course general manager drives up on me & wants to play 20 questions. Apparently his members behind me reported that they hadn’t seen me all day & there I was, holding them up.

I told him, hey man, I dunno...I’ve played every hole sequentially & ive got the app to prove it. I didn’t stop at the turn, so maybe that’s where we’re off here. The manager was nice enough, but between him & his members, they ruined my last two holes. Not worth even close to the $130 that I paid

The starter was Not in a good mood rude. We were in a group of four. We a had group of 2 in front of us. Told us we were to slow. We thought we were keeping good pace. The group behind us was complaining to the starter. So on back mine we had to keep pace with them. 4 had to keep up with 2. Still wasn’t good enough. Oh well rather would rather play elsewhere.

Layout is great, just like I remembered. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were a bit slow, but true and look to be recovering. Sand traps were in iffy condition with no rakes due to COVID. Not sure they were all conditioned prior to the beginning of the round. We played in 3 1/2 hours and never had to wait. My son wanted to play the back tees which was a little much for me - many 3 woods in, but fun. Great staff and course facilities.

After playing many courses in the Greater Tampa area, TPC Tampa has definitely stood out as my favorite and most enjoyable course. The design of the holes always feels fair and it's definitely a peaceful atmosphere.

The only issue is that the price is definitely something that is not easily affordable however if you want to play at a great course, I'd highly recommend it as other courses in the area will still charge around $35-40 and be way less enjoyable. Of course there are some great cheap executive courses too, but this course definitely delivered.

Also the water coolers placed at most holes seemed sanitary and had a good temperature, was definitely pleased with it.

I had played TPC Tampa about 8 years ago and was totally impressed with all aspects of the course. To the point that I made a mental note to come back when I got the chance. Well I got back a few days ago. The facilities and staff are excellent and the ladies in the bar are outstanding. I wish I could say the same about the course. The layout is still challenging but the fairways were fair to good at best and the greens were poor (slow, bumpy, and patches of no grass) not even close to what you would expect when playing a course with the name TPC associated with it. What a disappointment, I only hope they figure this out.

Highway robbery for $100 in the summer. The green conditions were embarrassing for a TPC course.

Greens needed work - could be due to Covid.

Otherwise excellent course.

Good deal from Golf Now!

I have played this course many times throughout the years. Today was bad. They sanded the greens and told no one. I played out there about 3-4 weeks ago and they had aeriated, which I was alerted thru golf now and was ok with it. But to go out today and without knowing they sanded was terrible. Some of my friends wanted to play another 9 and TPC insisted the replay rate was $40.... really for those crummy greens. TPC felt bad so they gave my friends a $59 replay coupon.... really, $59 to be treated like that!! There are a lot of courses in and around Tampa that bend over backwards for your business and offer reasonable rates. This is not one of them. Won't go back!!

Played the day after rain so only the cart path could be used, which slowed down pace of play. The conditions were not great, but course was a great layout and fun even when soggy. Rangers and an employee driving through could have been nicer, put a damper on the day. Maybe the frustration of managing the course conditions was a factor so I will give this course another chance because of the great layout.
