Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Over promise under deliver
The course is honestly just average. Which is a shame because it really does have the potential to be a truly great place. At the price point there are so many better options in the area. At the end of the day though the nail in the coffin was the rudeness of their staff.
Early morning tee off
My son and I had a great round. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Greens were in very good shape.
Not bad today
Today was good. Usually this course is overbooked and new golfers with no consideration of pace of play.
I’m done with this course.
Cart path only due to the rain received the night before. Of course, no discount. Wasn’t warned until we got to the starter. The pace of play was horrible on the back nine. For the aggravation, it’s not worth the money.
Manager answered phone rudely when I told him someone was stuck in the bathroom.
Course in awful condition Pace of play worse
Have played here several times and each experience has gotten worse. Today took the prize. A 5 hour round on a half populated course. No rangers pushing play. Heat index 106 and not 1 hole had water stations. The fairways were ok but the rough was extremely shaggy all the way up to every green. The greens on the front were very good but the back nine greens were pretty beat up. The staff in general acts like it’s a privilege to play here. It’s.not. Spend a few extra bucks and play Lake Jovita or even the TPC.
Not Worth the money
It was cart path only and had to walk to every ball , cart locked up on us 75 yards into the fairway before we new it was cart path only, nothing was said to us, the group behind us somehow could drive wherevever they wanted. Greens were covered in divots and tee boxes need to be mowed, not worth the 95 bucks
Great course to play
When you can get this course on a discounted rate, it is a great place to play. It's a little overpriced. Normally the clubhouse and Mulligan's are great! Love the fact that there's a driving range that is off the grass and not on mats
Love it
Best course around for the money. Perfectly manicured. Greens are challenging and play really fast. Staff is always super friendly. Restaurant is solid. Only thing I would like to see improved is a ranger to help keep up pace of play. It's gets really busy and sometimes can get stacked up. By far my favorite course to play in the area.
Fast Greens for a public course
This course is probably the best bang for your buck in the Tampa area. Greens are 11+ on the stint on the regular, and for public course, this is probably the best, even better than most private courses.
Great Course Layout
As this was my first time visiting plantation Palms, I found the course to be in great shape. Greens were fantastic. The staff was pleasant and very professional. The driving range facilities were also perfect. Looking forward to coming back here and playing again even enjoy a drink at the bar afterwards, and everybody in the bar was pleasant, professional, and attentive.
Fun. No need for cart path only.
I respect the course trying to protect the low areas, there was a lot of rain I was told, but after a few holes it was dry and safe in almost all fairways, wish they turned the cart path only off. Other than that, course was in great shape, greens rolled nice, pace was great.
Hidden Gem- Definitely playing again
Played Plantation Palms for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised across the board. The greens were in great shape — fast and true, but still receptive thanks to recent rain. It was cart path only, which was completely understandable given the recent downpours — and it clearly helped keep the fairways in excellent condition.
The starter was exceptionally helpful, and the pace of play was great. I teed off solo around noon on a Friday and fully expected to wait behind groups, but everyone moved quickly, and it made for a smooth round. Carts were clean, in great shape, and equipped with GPS, which is always a nice touch. (And the USB ports all worked)
The course is challenging, with some tight fairways, and challenging pin placements today. Long hitters will need to keep their drivers dialed in, or it may be better to rely on a wood.
Tee boxes were in solid shape, and the fairways were in great shape, especially at this price point — a real bargain for the quality. The bunkers were not in the best shape, but it's been pouring rain this week, so it's understandable.
The driving range had music playing, which gave it a great vibe. While I didn’t see a full short game area, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Only 25 minutes from downtown Tampa, this course is a gem and absolutely worth having in the rotation. I’ll be back for sure.
