One of the joys of being a golfer is knowing you're part of a vast community. Walk through a grocery store, shopping mall or airport wearing a hat or shirt from a favorite course and you're likely to end up in a conversation with a new friend and potential playing partner.

GolfPass specializes in feeding people's love of the game in the digital realm. With Play More. Play Better. as our guiding principle, we have helped hundreds of thousands of members save money on their rounds of golf and shave strokes off of their handicaps when they browse our large and growing library of instruction tips from some of the world's greatest teachers of golf.

But we have always wanted to find ways to cultivate a tangible sense of fellowship among the golfers who have honored us by joining us as annual members over the past six-plus years. So in December 2024, we took a big first step towards realizing that goal. We held our first-ever GolfPass Academy Tour event in sunny Scottsdale, Ariz., at Orange Tree Golf Resort.

With just a couple of weeks' notice, a group of 47 members and invited guests graced us with their presence for a full-on day of golf. The day began with a fun, interactive clinic hosted by Golf Channel personality Vince Cellini and headlined by GolfPass regulars Blair O'Neal, Nathalie Sheehan and Devan Bonebrake, plus Cheyenne Woods, who hosts GolfPass' new series Tee To Dream. Each instructor brought their unique approach to their portion of the clinic and mingled with attendees afterwards.

Then, everyone enjoyed a round of golf at Orange Tree's sleek midcentury-modern course, laid out by architect Arthur "Jack" Snyder in 1957.

Learning about golf and then playing golf (not to mention some swag) - a solid formula for fellowship in this great game.

The cost for GolfPass+ member attendees and their guests? Zero. The opportunity to attend exclusive events like this one is simply a perk of membership.

GolfPass Academy Tour going nationwide in 2025

The first event was such a smashing success that we are expanding the series in 2025, with an eye towards hosting four GolfPass Academy Tour days across the country. The first one will be Tuesday, March 4 at TPC Tampa Bay in Lutz, Fla. We will start with a clinic led by Devan Bonebrake, Blair O'Neal and Nathalie Sheehan - plus a special guest - followed by lunch and golf at one of Florida's premier publicly accessible courses, a Bobby Weed design that has hosted the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions.

Regarding the first GolfPass Academy Tour day of 2025, there's bad news and good news. The bad news is that all the spots have been filled. The good news is that there will be three more events over the remainder of the year. If interacting with some of golf's greatest instructors and then playing golf - all for free - appeals to you, then make sure you're a GolfPass+ member so that when the next GolfPass Academy Tour date opens up, you will be among the first to learn about it.
