One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Good Golf Course
The course was in good condition. There is usually a nice breeze even on hot days.
Some holes can drive one nuts
Number 5 in windy conditions. There’s no safe miss between the trees and water left of the green and the two lakes on the right. Number 15’s length and the bunker right of the green. Groups slow down navigating the last four holes in the wind. Precise shots are demanded.
Beware the approach on 18
You get a tail wind from rare northerlies and you generally finish strong. Hold up and allow the green to clear and then double check that the group you are following has really left. I hit my best shot of the day and then noticed the group had returned to the green. My ball landed in front of the 18th and then rolled past the golfers to the back. I waved so I guess we are all ok.
Windy day at cypress lakes
Great day at the course. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Greens had a spotty issues but by most part were true. Will play it again
Great but overbooked
Really enjoyed this course and had great weather. There's a good bit of water hazards to give you a challenge but still fun. There is only one course, and multiple people were booked for the same exact time (this was on a Tues. afternoon) which meant I had to wait a lot and this made for a very slow game. Otherwise, it was a great way to spend an afternoon. I'll be back, but hopefully at a less busy time.
Home of four bit crackers
A pack of four will set you back two bucks at Cypress Lakes. Greens are in great shape.. 15 is one of the toughest par you’ll ever play with a northerly wind. That same wind makes number 5 tough as well with lakes on the right and trees to the left. Marshall’s try to move groups along and keep all advised on backups.
Worst time ever
They let a 6 some play on a Saturday. Very disappointed with the pace of play. You charge way to much for that kind of service. Will let everyone know what y’all have done.
Long driving conditions
One drive I hit on number 8 went 65 yards forther than I normally hit thanks to a two club wind and a hard dry fairway. The flip side was scoring about 10 strokes worse as strong winds will eat you up on this course. The many lakes will attract golf balls like a magnet…banks are closely mown. The ninth green has improved much over the last couple of weeks. The rest of them are excellent. Watch for slow play on Fridays. The group ahead of us had two open holes by the time we got to the back nine.
Slow Round
Good value, good layout, great greens, OK fairways. Very slow play until course marshal warned the group ahead of us. Came close to a 5 hour round.
No marshals and overbooked
I played 3some today with my bodies, two guys showed up said they have same tee time as ours. How is possible to have 5 players play the same tee time?! And today there was no marshals, no one was checking the receipt and tee time at the first hole, no one was checking the pace. The groups were stack up since hole 1 because there was a group super slow and also a group cut in the line. What a terrible experience!
Awesome Track, Great Condition
Awesome course. Highly recommend. Great design. Awesome greens in awesome shape.
