One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Issues
Practice range grass is non existent
Staff and customers do not care about indoor mask usage even that there are large signs mandating it
Several sand traps are washed out or rock hard
Super fast greens
Winter Golf
. Played with my brother in under 4 hours. Solid round with lightening fast greens And was happy to see bunkers raked during COVID would come back
Best Value
This course really drains well in wet weather and the greens are nice fast and challenging. Course layout is very good. Hard to beat this course for the price they charge. Manager is very helpful In trying to accommodate your needs.
Winter Conditions
The greens are great and fast. Unfortunately, most fairways do not have much grass right now and the driving range hitting area was all sand.
unsatified
former member of cypress it was really sad to see how poorly I was treated. from desk clerk was short and condencending to say the least... I asked to have one more cart and I was told "Money is not an issued". we are short on carts so no ride alongs are permitted. So I had to send my wife back home .... poor business model. It is not only the inconvenience for paying customer but the lack of professionalism from the employee... he has a long way before he should be left along as front desk clerk.
Like I said before, I am a former club member and it was deeply disappointing to see the golf course so unattended.. greens need attention and sand traps are really in need of help.
I felt like I needed to have a refund once I've noticed the condition of the course.
It really its a shame.
CL Golf Club
The course layout is tight on the front nine, which makes it a bit of a shooting gallery. Greens were fast and in good condition. The pace of play was poor, which resulted in a 5 Hour round.
It’s a decent course but I wouldn’t recommend it to friends.
Beautiful Day to Play
I love playing this course. The course was still a bit damp which made shots from the fairway difficult (muddy). The greens were in great shape, but the traps were pretty much unplayable (not unhappy about that). Never saw anyone on the course selling drinks which was disappointing. I'll continue to play the course because it usually plays very well when it's dry and in good shape. You never know what you'll get in December!
Awesome greens fairways cut too short
Greens are fast but true. Only problem is that you can be in the middle of the fairway and the grass is as thin as paint.
Goof Course
Good course and fun to play. Greens were in good shape but fast and challenging to read. Only problem was the electric cart ran out of power on the 16th fairway.
Unacceptable for pro shop attendant to be unmasked
Course is great as always. I don't get the guy in the pro shop not wearing a mask after the patrons walk through doors on which signs are up that masks are required. That is inconsiderate and extremely poor form.
Never again
I've played this course many times & always enjoyed it & loved the greens, but not anymore. It's been a few years since the last time I played the course but the present conditions are unbelievable. Most fairways were hard, dry compact dirt with marginal grass on them. I understand we've been dry lately but a puff of dirt shouldn't fly when the ball lands in the fairways. As for the greens, they're extremely bumpy & nothing holds when hit in the air. If the ball lands short of the green it will end up on the back edge. Again, I understand its been dry but that doesn't mean the sprinklers can't be turned on.
Hopefully something will be done to bring this nice track back to the good old days.
Maintenance needed
This is a great track and usually the greens are the highlight but very bumpy.
Even with a discount not wort it
After playing only 4 holes in over an hour, jumped ahead to find out what the problem was. There was a 3 ball in front, 6 players in front of them, then a single. The next few holes had 2 ballers. Not worth spending 6 hours to play. Not sure why the course books it this way.
