One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Course offered a great challenge for a novice player like myself and partner. There are a lot of water challenges. We enjoyed and will play again the next weekend. Well the other reason is there is an outlet mall nearby and the wife’s are encouraging us to play there so they can shop.
High use public course that needs water. range balls are horrible, greens too fast for how bumpy they are but they were punched recently.
First of November
Excellent weather. One of my favorite courses in area.
Jk
Pace of play was bad and the greens had been punched some of the collars looked like the punched it with a chain saw
pace of play is an issue. there always seems to be one group holding up the course and we did not see a marshal until the 14th green.
Cypress Lakes Round
Cypress Lakes is a fun and challenging golf course that normally features excellent greens. But playing today we discovered that the greens had recently been aeriated, verticut and sanded.. The fringes had also been verticut. I understand this is a necessary evil that to be performed in order to have great greens but this was not the week. I took a guy out to play this course and sold him on the idea of the great greens. I am not sure he would come back. Our heartburn is that the course or Golf now should have alerted the public of this and let them decided to come out or not. I get it ... but it would have been nice to have dropped the price a few bucks or offer up a beer as compensation. that's all.

Staff is friendly. Great layout and always in good condition.
course needs to have marshal out to encourage slower players to either speed up or get out of the way.
Too crowded, didn’t even make it 9 holes
At 2.5 hrs left on Hole 8. Course was decent but not worth the super slow pace.
Always a challenge
Great layout with large greens. Usually some of the best greens in Houston.
Great Course!
Second time playing this course. Weather was amazing. Only complaint was that it appeared the greens were just re-raked and were in pretty bad shape in most cases.
But this must be a one-off as I just played there last week and the greens looked amazing, so something must have happened.
Greens are horrible right now
They did some sort of work on the greens and their usually awesome greens were horrible. Bumpy and the sand on The greens has small rocks....and in rocks.
Give it until mid October at least.
Good Course
Could use a little TLC as there was quite a bit of rough spots on the fairway, but greens were nice. Staff was great and layout was good. Only problem was the “Bro Golf” we got paired with. Really don’t like all of the loud music and shotgunning Natty Light. Definitely not the courses fault, but took away from a really good course. Would definitely go back though.
Too much confusion and course too crowded
Too crowded and with groups of 3 of 4 - too much talking and playing around! Others try to play the professional approach with measuring ball aligning their ball at every hole. The overall cadence of the game is hampered by the protectionist. Otherwise, ok!
