One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Golf at CL
I have played this course numerous times and it is a nice challenging course and I am a 22 handicap. The only real complaint is you never see a drink cart. You either get your drinks before hitting the first tee or on the turn.
Rock Hard Tight Lies
Even with all the rain we’ve had in the area course was rock hard. Like hitting off mats. Greens were still reasonably receptive but fast. Bumpy but surprisingly true. Eager to play again with counsel knowledge.
Been awhile took awhile
On a day that the rain forecast increased to 90 % I was surprised so many were out there. Pace was slow, many waggles, practice swings, and putt plumb bobbing. Also many golfers emerging unexpectedly from the woods. The greens were bumpy from aerating. I had always considered these greens the best around, but not that day. It had been six weeks since last playing there...I’ll give them some time to get the greens back in shape.
Sneaky tough course
This is a course that upon first glance seems forgiving but is tougher than you think as a lot of water is in play. With the wind the way it was today the course played a good 5 strokes harder. The mats on the range are too hard. The putting green is nice. The greens are healing well from the recent aerification. This is a course worth playing.
Great course
The course played very well! I truly enjoyed my time. The main things that could’ve been improved was the pace of play and the staff’s friendliness/customer service.
Great layout
All was good, unfortunately the greens had just been aerated and sanded, so they weren't as good as usual.
Hard as a rock fairways
The front nine fairways we very difficult to play off of due to their firmness. Almost impossible to take a divot. The back 9 was better. Greens were good but looked like nobody cares to fix their ball mark on the greens. Indentions all over the place. No beverage cart to be seen all day. Weather was good though.
Cypress lakes
The greens were very fast but in great condition one of the best courses in Houston
good greens as always
Greens are very receptive and are running true.
Grass is starting to grow in fairways and tee boxes.
For this early in the year the course is in good shape.
Enjoy your round
Great course
Course is in great shape and was a good challenge. Pace of play was great, will play again!!
Just an enjoyable course
Course is just so playable. Not too long, not too short, not gimmicky, just straight up enjoyable golf. In great shape.
Great Course
Very good course. Can’t go wrong playing here. Front nine gives it the name. Get by them and you can score good. Enjoy this course.
