One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Dry conditions
The course is in good shape, but the fairways are dry and hard. The ball will run a long ways. Greens are fast, and true. Lots of water on this course just as the name implies. Many risk/reward shots can be had. Make course management decisions and you can make a good score.
In decent shape
Course is in decent shape. Thank god the cold wet weather is gone!
2ND TIME @ CYPTESS LAKES
This NH Snowbird played here a couple of years ago and it was cloudy and rather cool.
Today was sunshine and mid 80s but quite windy.
The course is in good shape overall, except for the bunkers. Greens were great...very fast.

Great greens
Called while on the way to let them know we would be late because of 290 traffic and lane closures. Not a problem. Fairly windy. The fairways and tee boxes were in good condition for the first weekend in April. Greens were great with good speed.
Really enjoyed the round.

The fairways were a bit firm but the greens were in fair shape. Winter recovery presumably
Great course; need carts
Great course for the money and good 4h pace to be so crowded. Too few carts and several cart issues.

Good course. Course was dry and drains well. Greens are true. Will play again for sure!!
This course has a great layout!
Only recommendation is to keep golf cart in better shape. Mine stopped working at hole #8.
Nice course
Very nice layout, course in good condition, fast greens. Would to play again.
Tough Conditions
The course was in decent condition considering the rains of late. The traps were wet and still had water in them. The greens were very quick but putted well. The winds were difficult to play in.
why?
I like this course and the greens are always fast and challenging. However, I wish they would not have such a love affair with their lawnmower. Let the rough grow! Also, the fairways are cut too low as well. It's like hitting off hard pan all day.
Best public greens in N Houston
Great course that drains well and has the best public greens in north Houston area. The value is outstanding, but the sand traps could use some attention.

Greens are close to PGA Tour quality. Fairways are in great condition too. Wonderful course.
The greens are.in fantastic shape inspite of the recent rains. Course is well maintained. Disappointed that the lakes are not in play making the course easier to play than previously thought.
