One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

One of my favorites
Another enjoyable day on this course. Not too difficult with no forced carriers. Greens roll true. Course in good condition. There are always spare balls on the range left behind by the monthly members who get them for free.
Course was in great shape and awesome greens!!
Will recommend to friends and will definitely play again soon.
Nice first time
Nice layout. Greens in excellent condition. Rolled well. Fairway ok. Very hot and dry in August. Fairways within 150 yards were better watered. Will play again.

Excellent public course, nice greens.
This was the first time I played this course and I was impressed. The fairways were nice and greens were the best I have played at a Houston public course. They have a nice driving range and putting green. The course layout may not challenge the low handicappers but for most of us, the layout has just enough water and bunkers to make it fun and challenging.
Hot deal on a hot day
Group of 3 on the tee graciously let me go ahead of them on the tee. Otherwise wide open play. Plenty of ice available at The halfway house. Staff was friendly as always. Course was in great shape. Greens roll true and fast.
Repeat for sure
First time back in a while. Greens had been topped probably 5-6 weeks ago, but overall course was in great shape!!
Worth playing
Real good course, worth the money course condition in great shape after 3 days of rain. Pace of play was great. Will be back again
Greens
Overall the course conditions were great. The greens had been recently done so they played well, except the holes themselves had a pretty decent lip to them. That issue will go away over time.
Great course
I've been here several times and can't say anything negative whatsoever about the play, pace of play, other players, the greens, the fairways, staff, etc. Just a good all around course that doesn't cost a small fortune to be a member or even a non-member.
Greens less than ideal
Disappointed with condition of greens. Very bumpy. Dead grass / missing grass all over greens causing ball to bounce around and not roll smooth. Not what I’ve come to expect from CL. I’m sure they’re working to correct issue. Still enjoyed the round.
Greens could have been better
We played this course expecting the greens to be as good as they are Dvertised, but we were disappointed in the conditions. They looked like they had benn sprayed green since the grass was sparse. They were very quick and bumpy. I felt like if they had been mowed they might have putted better. Great course but not up to par for this time of year
Under 4 hours
Good value, had a twilight rate and showed up ready to play a half hour early. The pro said it was wide open if I wanted to go early. I did and it was. Number two remains tricky. Give the water on the right a wide berth...slope will draw a shot into the drink quite easily. Water and trees on 18. Somehow I astayed clear and was able to get an approach 7 over the trees for a tough bogey.
Great as always
Greens are in pristine condition and rolling great! Staff always friendly and helpful.
