One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Cypresswood golf club
Wish they was a way to check conditions of the course. The greens were just punched and were horrible. You get what you pay for. Not a bad layout and I will play it again for another review!
Overall a great course
Great course, challenging pin placement on a number of holes, sand traps need some work, most were very packed with thin layer of sand or mud in them while some were like concrete. This is due to the amount of rain we have had, so I feel comfortable that they will be improved in future rounds.

Tell it like it is
My ratings are low for a reason, but the reasons, for the most part, are temporary because Cypress Lakes is a very good golf course. However, it hangs its hat on the greens. On the day I played, though, the greens were aerated and sanded. It is the responsibility of the course to report maintenance work to GolfNow, but it is also the responsibility of GolfNow to make sure they are reported.
Aside from the greens, the course had some dry fairway spots, and the clubhouse and "barn" need repair.
As for the staff, they are seldom overly friendly. The guy there when I played called me buddy twice. Hey MAC, that's not my name. How about some courtesy, as in Mr. Baltzley?
It was nice!
It was a hot day(humid) but I was cooled down as tee off. Fairway was well maintained and green was bit fast than it looks. Layout was great and unlike other similar courses among houses, you would feel safe to hit the fairway rather than those properties:)

Had a great round. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very nice course. No problems playing here again. Only thing was they had a lot of play and it made the pace somewhat slow. To be expected.

The layout is nice for a course the is on flat terrain. It was in good condition. The pace of play was poor. A twosome backed up a foursome, a twosome, and another foursome on one tee box. At the turn the two other golfers we were paired with stopped for some food. Ten minutes later they still didn't have their food yet.

Course & greens in great condition. Pace was good 3-1/2 hours for 4-some. Beverage cart made multiple appearances. Will definitely play again.
