Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

Good shape a must play
Overall always like playing this course. Only negative was the bunkers were not in good shape. Many bunkers were hard pan and hard to get out. Rough in many areas needed to be cut.
Still a must play
East Bear Creek Course
It was very hot and the pace was very slow. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Had to quit after nine holes due to the heat and the pace of play. Very expensive 9 holes of golf.
Best Greens
The greens were the best I have been on this year. I normally play Cowboys and your greens are faster and smoother.
Overall good
Both east and west are in pretty good condition. Very busy on weekends.
4:44 round. Tee time didn't start on time... About 15 mins behind in fact.
Tee times are not going off on time. Not even close. Behind schedule 15 mins which is really absurd when you think about it how easy it is to get people started on time. Tee boxes are in bad shape. Greens are good and firm. Few sand traps I saw looked good. But lots of fairway divots need attention and they carts are in bad shape. Cart girls were friendly and frequent which was nice.
Great Overall Course & Experience - West Course
This is my first time playing Bear Creek and it was great! We played on the West course and there was only one green that had patch repairs. The fairways were great and the course layout made for a very fun and challenging round. We had an 8:30 am tee time on Friday, so the course wasn't overly crowded but certainly picked up as the morning progressed. I will absolutely play Bear Creek again.
Course was great to play overall. Staffs are friendly and professional. Pace was fairly slow on the West course. It took 3 hrs. just to get to hole 12. We (4) had to leave early. This is my 2nd time leaving early on the West course. It seems overbooked compared to East course.
Greens rolled well, pace of play was the worst I have ever seen.
Challenging layout. Decided to cut my round short after 13 holes and 3 and a half hours.
Golfs not fun when you have to wait at every tee box
Too tricked up
Played the West course for the first time today. 95 degrees but enough shade to be tolerable . This course has significant elevation changes on almost every hole. Several blind shots only one with a flag at the bottom of the hill. Very poorly marked. They could benefit from fairway 150/200 sticks. Unless you have played the course before you are just guessing! New sod going down on several holes an can’t complain about conditions given recent weather. Still a little pricey for Avis prime given the layout. May come back and try the East course but never again on the West.
Great fairways and greens!
Nice layout, lots of clean up the last few years to make the course more eye pleasing and playable. Fairways and greens were excellent but bunkers lacked consistency, some hard pan and some too fluffy. Overall a nice experience.
Bear Creek West
This side of Bear Creek has always been the best....and you pay for it. However today the course was in rough shape and not worth 60 bucks for sure. You could lose a kidney on some cart paths and it appears they are trying to get it back onto shape, but for now a pass for 60 bucks
