About
Bear Creek Golf Club's East Course is considered a tad more difficult than the West, with tighter fairways and smaller greens. Fourteen of 18 holes dogleg, so its label as a target course is accurate. Elevation changes make club selection a challenge, and the par 5s are tough to reach in two. No. 5 stands out on the front: a 385-yarder that doglegs left and involves an approach over water. No. 8 is longer (418 yards) and features water in the fairway landing area and along the right side. On the back, no. 15 is the signature, playing 432 yards and tricky because of the blind approach shot.

Windy Day
Teed off at 2:30, with plenty of wind. Played the green tees on windy holes and dog legs to make the course fair.
Blue tees for wide open fairways and had some fun. Love the water holes and the greens - very well maintained for the amount of daily play.
Finished in the dark - but had a good round.
Great Day
Teed off a little after two. The course played beautifully, with greens smooth with challenging slopes, hard to earn pars and birdies.
Pace was good, weather could not have been better. We finished right at sunset, playing orange and yellow balls for the last few holes.
Booked a tee time for today as well.
My favorite course in the Dallas Metroplex
A mainstay in the area
Bear creek with two 18 hole courses has been a stalwart for public golf in DFW for decades. The west course has seemed to be the preferred side and was first for a pretty major make over several years back. More recently the east has had the updating and it is now on par. From the fairway to the greens and the bunkers, it is in great shape. When spring of 2022 gets really rolling, both side should be stellar and a real test for every level of golfer. They added a new party patio as well but COVID will restrict its use until who know when.
Lost range finder
Left my range finder in my cart at end of my round and the staff who cleaned it must have kept it because they said it wasn’t found.
Outstanding
Played the East Course on Monday 10-25-21. Very good pace of play even with a lot of golfers. Some demanding tee shots on that East Course. Greens fast and rolled true. Will be back soon and try the West. Highly recommend.
Good challenge
Greens were quick and smooth for a Friday pace of play was good
