About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Poor pace of play
It took more than 2 1/2 hour to finish 9 holes. We waited every hole. It got better towards the end but 5 1/2 hour round shouldn't be allowed.
It’s good for play!!
Everytime good to play but bit busy!

Great challenge and good conditions.
A challenging yet very fun track. One of the best city owned courses with consistently good conditions. Narrow fairways and well kept greens and bunkers are the highlights of Rio Hondo.

Course is in great shape .. best part was an amazing cart women named Christine who was so full of positive energy always smiling and eager to work .. our whole group hopes to see her everytime we play here ..

The Good, Bad and Ugly
The Good: Very nice course with challenging but fair layout.
The Bad: We arrived 30 minutes early for our 1:30 Tee time but because they 'overbooked', we could not tee off until 1:48.
The Ugly: after pushing our tee time back, they grouped my partner and I with 3 other golfers creating a 5 some. As a result, we could not finish our round before darkness.

Course Great! Pace Terrible!
The pace was terrible! I didn’t finish the round (was dark in the 15 hole), there is no Marshall to push the groups, It took 6hrs! It’s crazy! The group in front of us was all beginners, they should not be allow to play in that course… rather than that, the course conditions was great!

Good course but so slow round
Since the tee time interval was arranged each 5 minutes, each hole needs to wait for long time and it took about 6 hours for 18 holes round.

Good, but slow
Greens and fairways are great, my only complaint here is that there is no Marshall that keep the pace. 5 hours is a ling time.

A Nice Round!
We play here about once every two months or so. The fairways were in perfect condition! Green and lush with no burned out areas as in the past at times. A marshall kept the pace of play moving nicely, which has been an issue in the past. Also, the starter keeps everything in check! Keep up the great work!

Too slow
Tee time ran 25 minutes late and there were 3 groups waiting on the 8th. I quit after 9.
This course has so narrow and tight.
The tee time here is 8 minutes apart, so I prepared and there were already several teams of players waiting in the queue, and the start was delayed by 30 minutes. I could only hit 13 holes before sunset. I don't want to recommend it here.^^

Soooooo sloooooooow!
The course is in decent shape, but it took us just over three hours to play 12 holes, in 100° temperature. We waited on every shot for those 12 holes, as the holes in front of us were packed with golfers. On the 13th tee, we saw three groups playing the 13th hole, going nowhere. My playing partner and I decided to abort the mission and did not finish the 18…
Not a ranger in sight all day. They really need to manage their pace of play at this course, or I am simply not going back…
