About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Awesome place
value for money and excellent place to play with wife
Great course - Bermuda Triangle of lost balls
Great course, cool amenities, but the Bermuda Triangle of lost balls. Three fairway balls gone without any idea as to where it went. I would play again for sure but would use cheaper balls that wouldn’t matter if they go into another dimension.

Left in the middle of the round due to slow play. Finished 10 holes in almost 4 hrs.

Well Maintained
The course is 25 min drive from LAX during the off peak time, the course is in great shape some challenging holes, I would recommend the course to other players.

Very slow
The course was overbooked and players were allowed to have extended conversations between each shot. No rangers were around to keep play moving.
SLOW PACE
Course has nice lay out… but they overbook tee times…. Had a 10:50 tee time didn’t get in box until 11:10…..no Marshall on course to keep steady play.. would be nice course if it didn’t take 6 hours to play… also snack bar only has generic ketchup….71$?! Yeah give me a break….
Nice course…. Very very slow tho….groups backed up on par 3s…could be great if pace was better…also they give out generic ketchup packets with hot dog at the snack bar…comeee onnn
