Los Amigos
Walked a round golf At Los Amigos in a beautiful day. Los Amigos is a great course to walk at is fairly flat. The course was in good condition; however, greens was a slow and bumpy this particular day. The course is very fair and has tees at 5900 and 6200, so fair for all levels. The only draw back was the typical slow pace of play on the week. This round took nearly 6 hours. That being said I will be back soon.
Los Amigos Delano
Off the beaten path but solid value for the price.
Greens are erratic and often not in great shape.
Would play again if we didn’t get stuck behind a 4some with an 80 year old and a woman that appears to never have played before
Overbooked
It appears the course likes to overbooked there times. I had a 253pm and someone else had a 256pm tee time. Why such a narrow spacing. End result 5.5 hour round. 10 min wait on 2nd hole with 4 groups waiting
Extremely poor pace of play
They stack tee times way too close and overbook
Would be a great course but it took us 2 hours to get to hole 5 total 7 hours on the course
NO WARNING for course maintenance.
So interesting how the guy at the pro shop (who was actually nice and cordial) did not mention that the golf course was undergoing major maintenance and that exactly half (9 holes) of the course was closed until AFTER I paid for my round.
I responded immediately that there was no warning of this when I initially booked my tee time. He then said that they had actually did put a warning on Golfnow as well as other reservation sites. I said "okay, my mistake for not paying attention." Then I went out and put my golf bag in the cart to get ready to tee off. But I wanted to see exactly what type of warning there was and the only thing I saw was "Course Alert" in the golf now app. "Course Alert" usually means that they are punching the greens (aerification) and that is not a deal breaker for me. But no other warning. So, I went back into the pro shop and showed the guy. He agreed that there was no warning, took a picture of my Golfnow app showing no details, and quickly gave me a refund. Kudos to him for being reasonable about it. But still, I wasted my time and energy when Los Amigos made the mistake. Whether intentional or a simple oversight, it is still inexcusable.
Definitely a blemish on the management there. They should make some attempt to make it right.
Not ready for 18.
Booked on the Golf Now app, but the course is under major renovations. So the setup was a mixture of 9 holes from the front and back sides where you play it twice to get your 18 holes. Little disappointing that there was nothing mentioned.
However, I’ve payed this track plenty of times and like it under regular conditions. Definitely will go back once course renovations are completed.
Save time and money
Not worth it. Poor management And rude staff. Gotta play same 9 for 18 holes
Best Staff in LA Golf
I’ve been playing Los Amigos since I was a kid. My grandfathers taught me how to play there. I love this place. The staff (Misael & crew) are very friendly and cool. This course is not too difficult. It’s very flat, short, and there’s not too much tree trouble. Occasionally pace can be poor due to too many 5-somes. Overall this is my home course and I’m very proud of it.
Over This Place
Booked a tee time for 12:48. Didn't get to tee off till about 1:30.
About 4 hours and 50 mins to finish THE FRONT 9.
I didn't get a picture of how backed up it was but I did get timestamps for where I was via the grint app.
BEYOND RIDICULOUS. Felt like staff didn't really care. They noted the back up but it was said like it's common knowledge.
I get a group or two. People can be slow but 4-6 groups all waiting to tee off. WOW.
It just gets worse and worse.
ok, not great
played on a Saturday. tee time slated for 12:08 PM. Got off at closer to 1:00 PM.
there was concern we would not have a cart to drive in - but that ended up not being a problem.
SUPER SLOW - at times, there were three groups on a tee box, waiting,.......
I do love this course - but unless you are teeing off before 9:30 AM on the weekend, or playing on a week day - it can be slow which is always a bummer.
Much Improved Experience
Pace of play is definitely better on a weekday morning. I’ve played here on a weekend where a round can take 6+ hours. Played here on a Friday morning and was able to finish in 4.5 hrs. Course definitely needs a marshal as a pair of players missed their tee time and jumped in front of the group ahead of us to “catch up”. These are the little things that add up and can really mess up pace of play.
