Rio Hondo Golf Club

Played with some friends on the 4th at 5:40a.m. Course was in great shape especially for a public course. Friends kept on commenting that this was the best course they’ve ever played for the $.

I was surprised the golf facility and the condition of golf course was in excellent shape! I didn't expect to see it because the course is owned by city. I like the layout and fairway is neat and every hole is well maintained and playable. We played under 4 hours which was what we want. Definitely I'll play again!

Let me first say that after playing for the first time on Friday I came back on Saturday morning for another round. I have asked several friends that have been golfing in LA for years and nobody had ever played this course before. The layout of the course, the conditions and the landscaping were all beautiful. The closest comparison I can make is the Legends course at La Costa...and it’s much cheaper. Don’t miss this one!

I love this course. It’s a great course and a fun round. When I played there last my tee time was 1:56. When I checked in they said they were a half an hour behind. Then my group waited over an hour to tee off. There were no carts available. They way overbooked.

Love this course, but, arrived on Saturday for a 1:50 tee time. We didn’t get out until close to 3pm. No reason given, no carts until you went out for your round. Holes 6 and 7, 20 minute wait each hole,

3 or 4 groups backed up each hole. No solid IPAs in a can, if you like domestic beers and waiting, this course is for you. Also, they use ocean spray Bloody Mary mix, didn’t even know they made a mix.

Played Rio Hondo for the first time. Course was in very good shape. Reserved my tee time, but got stuck in a fivesome.

Like the course layout. Only thing I would change is the back to back to Par 5s followed by back to back Par 3s on the front 9. Holes 8 and 9 slows pace of play.

Overall, I really liked the course and look forward to playing it again.

Nice course but pace was extremely slow. It 5 hrs and 20 minutes to complete 18 holes. Just too much time.

Overbooking is not good for the game.

I played in a Monday and got off early Well before my tee off time. Finished in three and a half hours. Solid course layout. Nice greens in good shape even though they were punched a week ago. Lots of maintenance activity at the course which is good. Played from the blues and it was a fair challenge for a low handicapper. I’ll definitely be back. Good value for the money. All thumbs up here. They have a nice double decker driving range. Only complaint was no water on the course.

40 minute delay on tee time 5 hr round group in front of us we’re playing from the wrong set of tees for there ability

Great course and great staff, just the groups of 5 were horrible. Took 4 hours to get to 13 where we eventually quit. Greens are in good shape, fairways are thin and browning, otherwise a good track.
