Prepare for off-roading in golf carts
Tried this course since it’s close by and what a mistake. For as busy as it was and for what they charge I would expect this place to be better maintained. Prepare to off-road in mainly dirt not grass in a golf cart at every hole from how badly maintained it is and their gofer problem is visibly out of control. This course is a good size and there are no signs to know which way to the next hole, so unless you’re very familiar with it you have to drive around or ask a fellow golfer wasting time. The only things maintained were the greens and the fully stocked bar with plenty of options. Definitely won’t be back, rather play Bella Verde’s 9-hole twice & pack my own drinks & snacks. This place could be such a gem if it was managed/maintained properly.
Course has Potential
Whittier Narrows has a very nice layout and can make for a very fun round. However, the course is poorly maintained, overgrown, too many dirt patches, and a slow pace of play. The greens weren’t bad and relatively quick. If you ignore these distractions you can have an a decent round of golf.
River/Pine/Mountain
3 separate , 9- course each , leading each group to begin at the first tee box smoothly at each 3 courses than just one backed up groups at the 1st teebox usually.. Each 9 course seems to define and express your depth of golf skill levels..
Great place for practice
Any Course Some group were slower play effects

POP was bad for a weekday
You would have thought that in the middle of the week, the pace would be ok. And since the tee sheet didn’t look too crowded, I expected it to move along. Nope!
The place MUST QUIT sending out 5SOMES!!! Stop!!! Just stop it!!! Ruins the pace for everybody else. It’s truly sad.
Teeing off just after 12, I thought we would finish easily before sunset. Nope!!! 4 hours and 50 minutes!!! Last light of the day on 18, barely saw the ball. Yes we did finish but just barely!! For a weekday, it is unforgivable. Why was it so slow.
Otherwise, the greens were decent. Perhaps needed one more cut and roll, they were a bit spongy and a bit bumpy.
Please fix the pace of play, and quit sending out 5somes.
Beware of parking
People scooping out people who are playing a round of golf and targeting their cars. Was there and 4 random different people had their cars broken into. Luckily I wasn’t one of them.
Horrible pace of play
The pace of play was absolutely horrible. They allowed 8-somes and 6-somes on this particular day. Usually, it was not like this the last two times we played here. It was so ridiculously that we played four holes and decided to leave. Each hole was taking thirty minutes. They need to space out the times better or enforce some rules to avoid this kind of play for people who want to enjoy the sport.
Greens and bunkers perfect.
Greens and bunkers were nice. Really well maintained. Overall the whole course is on the soft side, as it was well-watered for this day, but the greens rolled nicely and the bunkers were raked with good sand in them.
One of the easier County courses, it’s a more basic and flatter layout, but still fun to play, as the conditions are so much better than LA City courses. Good grass on the fairways too. Of course if you veer a bit too wide there are dead patches but only if you really go wide lol
POP was a bit slow, but it was a Saturday. But still came in at 4:45, which is not too bad at all.
Commend the greenskeeper for maintaining the important areas to make it worthwhile to play. Thanks.
pace of play and rules
pace of play was 5 hours 10 minutes. waiting on most holes. course was in good shape. I played as a single with a group of 3 and they made me ride with them and not give me my own cart. the course is too long and spread out to walk. for the $100 green fee I should have had my own cart and not have to ride with a complete stranger. it's not about meeting a complete stranger it's about getting a round of golf in and you have no idea who the other person is or them knowing u. I was very disappointed in the cart rule.
