Alhambra Municipal Golf Course

Decent layout that has few interesting holes. That being said, conditions were super rough. The greens are patchy and bumpy. There is leafs and weeds everywhere.

As a 30+ handicapper and overall cheapskate I love this course, but the greens have different types of grass and can really affect your putting. Otherwise, great value.

Greens and bunkers were terrible. Dead bare spots, lots of crabgrass on intrusion. Bunkers were muddy, just dirt. Tees and fairways were okay. Not worth the money right now.

Many dead/dry patches on many greens. Not to mention patches of weeds growing on them. It’s evident that they are not maintaining them. That’s on top of the over grown greens’ grass. I’ve never seen greens like these. This was on ALL the greens.

Your staff like ALWAYS was top notch.

But in the 30+ years I’ e played here today was the first time the course; especially the greens, was in such TERRIBLE shape.

Hopefully it’s a temporary situation and you will soon return to your normal excellence

Weeds on greens, its rough. No chance of putting normally

I used to love playing here but after today’s round, I will not be returning any time soon. Whoever is in charge of this place should be absolutely ashamed of the course condition. The greens are a total joke with weeds, bumps, dry spots, and pitch marks everywhere. The rough is overgrown and there are so many areas to off limits due to ground under repair.

Another issue is the management seem more interested in squeezing as many tee times as possible instead of regulating pace of play.

If anyone is thinking of playing here, save ur money and go somewhere else. You’ll be glad you did!!

I have played here on and off for over the 30 years. This past round is the worst I've ever seen the greens. There is some kind of invasive species that has ruined the usually lush Bermuda greens that used to be here. It's rather unfortunate to see this happen to such a nice course. The greens are extremely bumpy. The ball roll is unpredictable. I would only play here if you have no other choice.

I've played here many times over the last 10 years and I have never seen the greens in the condition that they are in this past Friday, July 3, 2026. I appears that there is some type of invasive species that has infiltrated the usually lush Bermuda greens that Alhambra GC usually offers; it's one of it's nicest features - medium/fast greens with pure roll. Yesterday, however, the greens all look diseased from the invasive grass (possibly Poa Annua?) which makes the ball roll very inconsistent and unpredictable. It's very unfortunate that this has happened to the greens here because while the course is not very long, the challenge of the greens made it worth working on short game chipping and putting. With the way the greens are now, it's not worth the price.

Always like this course but all 18 greens are destroyed. Worst than being plugged. My pictures explain everything. These pictures represent all 18 greens.

This course wasn’t worth even paying for one hole! Alhambra should be embarrassed for these course conditions. Greens are UNPLAYABLE, can’t putt ball through the current conditions. Fairways are barren of grass and areas around greens have 6-10” overgrown grass on some holes. Lost 2 balls in this area within 10 yards of green.

I can’t believe I didn’t read the reviews before booking as it wasn’t worth paying $100 for 2, really bad and wouldn’t have paid $20 to waste my time!

Green conditions are lackluster and impossible to putt on. So many bumps and dirt patches on the green.

The course used to be well maintained now I have no idea what happened to it, the greens are one of the worst greens we have ever play in. Time to find a new location to play.

course is very dry, lots of balding spots, apparently, they are "hand-watering" the greens and it shows. Very in need of some hydration for your grass.

I paid full price to play on this course, but the greens are one of the worst I have ever seen.

The fairways aren't very bad but the greens are horrible! Patches of grass making the ball hop all over the place. Will not play here again.

So sad to see how bad this course has gotten. Greens are worse than if they were freshly punched. This use to be a great course with beautiful greens. I would play this once a week. Haven’t been here in over a month because of this same reason and looks to be the same. And it’s crazy that in the condition it is, everyone still flocks to play here which might actually be part of the problem right now. For what they are charging you it’s absolutely not worth it. Hope something changes

This course used to be really nice and well maintained. It’s sad to see how it deteriorated this bad.
