The Club at River Wilderness

We have played this course many times over many years of visiting the area. We always love the layout and usually the course is in good condition with great greens. On this occasion however the overall condition was poor.. Many poor tee boxes and some patchy and Wooley greens with inconsistent speeds. The greens had obviously been recently aerated and had almost recovered so perhaps this excused their slow pace. Normally they've been quick and true.

Would we play there again? Deffinately.

First time we’ve played here but won’t be our last. We’re treated like we were members by Steve and his staff. Course layout was nice with little chance of hitting into a parallel fairway. Greens had been punched about a month ago, but were still fast and in good condition. Ample water points and nice sand to play from.

This course is in very good condition, greens were punched about 3 weeks ago and are still just a little bumpy. Overall condition besides the greens is very good, couple tee boxes are in need of TLC, choose this course it is worth it.

This was ouir first time to play River Wilderness and we had a great time. The course was in very good condition especially considering the rain that area has had in the last two to three weeks. Pace of play was just under four hours which I considered excellent. Greens rolled very nicely. The staff could not have been better, the gentleman working the pro shop gave us a few tips on where to hit it and where not to hit it on some blind tee shots. This course will definitely be added to our regular rotation of course just apply in the area.

Course was super wet should not have been opened every hole seems the same no river and not much wilderness

Can’t really give a honest review considering the conditions but for the money there’s better courses to be played in the area for less money

What a great atmosphere. Great layout; we did not know they had just punched greens but it was still worth it. Great staff makes the trip from Valrico worth it it.. Great overall experience.

We had one of those days where it seemed like we (a twosome) were the only people on the course. Not that there was any reason to but we actually replayed three holes to see if we could play them any better.

The course conditions were great. Loved the fairways. Greens were slippery. You get free unlimited range balls and the other practice areas are really nice: chip, sand and putt.

I love it when it gets too hot for the regulars.

Have here played twice in the last 10 days. Pace of play great both times. Today we were around in 3hrs 10mins. Greens are quick and true and there are some challenging holes. The young assistant pro put us off the 10th to start as a couple of footballs had just gone off the 1st and we were a twoball. I like that consideration.

Greens were pretty firm but rolled great.

course was in very good condition, better than most of the local Sarasota courses. While not a spectacular course in design or layout, it is a very forgiving course to play that of the two times I played (December and May) is well kept and maintained

Fairways were very hard, and Greens were also hard, and the fastest I have ever putted. I enjoyed the layout, but I would say the Course Condition was Average. I enjoyed my round, but not in a hurry to go back

Had a great day, soon as I pulled in the parking lot an attendant was there with a cart. Pro shop staff was very friendly. Nice practice areas - range, chipping, sand trap & putting green, balls included. Greens were fast, would hold shots that came in high, run a lot if came in low. First time in Florida so not sure of comparing grass conditions - spring like for those of us from up north. I was paired with a nice couple, non members also. Enjoyed the wildlife.

Excellent friendly. Didn’t play at this course last year wish we had.

Very nice golf course and the staff is very friendly. It was a little slow on the front side but picked up nicely on the back. Holed out a six iron on the first hole for an eagle and the weather was perfect.
